By Melissa Bangs - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: How to Raise $500 to $5000 from Almost Anyone: A 1-Hour Guide for Board Members, Volunteers, and Staff (Paperback)
Andy's newest book is an essential tool for any organization seeking to create an effective fundraising culture and skill set among its volunteer base, staff and board. All of the basics that you need to know are articulated in an easy-to-read and relate-to manner. The book is chalked full of fundraising truths that will help quiet the butterflies and get you out there moving money for the organizations you love. In a one to two-hour read, you'll cover the essentials of effective face-to-face, major donor fundraising. My favorite part?! His humor! Let's just say that Andy and I drink from the same trough when it comes to the rules of fundraising. That said, his humor is a unique gift that, in my estimation, will dismantle the greatest road blocks within you and allow you to get out of your own way as you move money for a greater mission. Thank you Andy!!!

Demystifying Fundraising for Volunteers and Board Members, Oct 5 2011
By Susan S Smith - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: How to Raise $500 to $5000 from Almost Anyone: A 1-Hour Guide for Board Members, Volunteers, and Staff (Paperback)
Andy Robinson manages to demystify the fundraising process as well as inspire aspiring fundraising volunteers and board members. In his latest book, "How to Raise $500 to $5000 From Almost Anyone," Robinson clearly delineates manageable and eminently simply approaches to thinking about the fundraising process. He clearly helps groups work on identifying prospects, delineating the volunteer and board responsibilities, organizing the ask process and ultimately closing the gift. His real life examples help volunteers gain comfort with the process and understand that, in the end, "It's a privilege to ask. It is also a privilege to be asked."

This is a great fundraising book. Most importantly, this book is full of wonderful ideas that will inspire people to donate more money to your cause. I've been raising money, successfully, for more than 30 years and I can honestly say that I learned things in this book. Andy is a witty, inspiring and honest writer. You'll find practical and instantly usable ideas on every page. I own more than 100 fundraising books, and my yardstick for their value is this: are there ideas I can use to raise lots more money? This book caused me to declare: Yes! You will learn how to raise $500 to $5,000 from almost anyone. Buy it. Read it. Follow Andy's advice. And reap the rewards.
