The author is humbled for the stellar review from Rick Seaney, CEO of FareCompare:

“Great For Home Bodies & Workaholics Alike

As a weekly air travel columnist for ABCNews.com and USA Today, I am no stranger to travel fears (I have a “white knuckle” flyer of a brother and a “won’t board a prop plane” wife), I found Ms. Brock’s “Travel with Confidence” an excellent and snappy read for anyone with even a twinge of anxiety about moving out of their current travel comfort zone.

She leaves no stone unturned as she walks us through the steps to becoming a savvy world traveler without requiring decades of seasoning. Her common sense steps help both home bodies and workaholics alike remove all the excuses and road blocks thrown up between them and a bucket-list full of travel adventures.

Travel with Confidence first addresses issue of culture shock, personal safety and fear of flying, then it helps confident travelers take their travels to another level by saving them time and money and showing them tools to travel more efficiently.

Thanks to this book, all travelers can learn how to relieve anxieties with meticulous pre-planning: the author provides how-to’s that are practical and easy to follow. I like how she covers the basics on getting a house-sitter, what to do with pets, while reminding you not to mention travel plans on social media and the importance of a low-key departure. And don’t miss the tips on budget travel that won’t make you feel deprived, and see how you can enjoy the ultimate in luxury without paying more than you have to.”

5.0 out of 5 stars A book on the psychology of travel interwoven with real stories April 16 2012
By Bobby Bahram - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
My wife and I love traveling, even if we don't do it often, we do it well when we do it. We don't have a fear of traveling but our parents - that's a different story, so I wanted to help them overcome their resistance to going place further than the beach or the mountains, and this book is phenomenal in covering all the crazy fears and anxieties people have around travel. Most of it is made up in your mind. The author does a great job of really getting to the root cause of all those fears, and then helps you overcome them. The travel tips are golden. We are going to be using some of those ourselves. This is a book on the psychology of travel interwoven with the travel stories of the author herself. Plus a great sense of humor. Awesome read!

I love that Farnoosh has taken the time to walk us though almost every detail of the travel experience. Most of our travel fears and stress come from a lack of control, either real or perceived, and this guide 1) gives you information to be prepared, and 2) gives you a change in perspective to leave you feeling a bit more relaxed and focused. Love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars No more excuses for your travel dreams! April 9 2012

"The Fear Crushing Travel Guide left me yearning to travel more-and I was in the midst of traveling when I got this book! The interviews & tips covered all psychological issues I've ever encountered from talking to people about traveling more. In addition, it neatly covers each life stage and the people we want to take with us (or how to leave them behind tactfully.)

The stories included evoke a strong "saudades" (Portuguese), reminding to drink deeply of foreign cultures while we are still capable. The author expertly weaves her own experiences with other short & long term travelers' and does her best to uproot any objections you might be clinging to with her masterfully designed book. "
