"[A] sexy, engaging world…that draws you in, never lets you go, and will leave you begging for more!"--USA Today bestselling author Cheyenne McCray
--This text refers to the Mass Market Paperback edition.

Book Description

Noah Baker never wanted to betray the Others. But if his military commanders want him to covertly investigate a Lupine scientist-whose extraordinary research on sensory perception in werewolves could be used to develop werewolf-sharp senses in human soldiers-Noah must oblige. Even if it means deceiving the woman he desires the most.Samantha Carstairs is the personal assistant to the Alpha of the Silverback Clan, and as best friend to the Lupine community's most brilliant scientist, she is privy to its most dangerous secret. Noah knows that Sam will never leak the scientific research...so he must find another way to get it, while keeping Sam close. But someone else is after Sam's secret. Who is the other spy infiltrating the Others? If their genetic secrets get into the wrong hands, all hell could break loose. Now Noah's true loyalty is put to the test as he fights to protect the Others-and his beloved Sam-and find the imposter...before it's too late.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love Noah!, July 12 2008
By Deborah Wiley - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Howl at the Moon: A novel of The Others (Mass Market Paperback)
The world is adjusting to the unveiling of the Others, the supernatural denizens once believed imaginary. Soldier Noah Bishop has been welcomed into their world, as his sister, Abby, is engaged to the demon Rule. Unfortunately, he now finds himself torn between his loyalty to country and his new friends and sister as he is ordered to infiltrate and secretly obtain information from the Lupines. Meanwhile, his attraction to sexy werewolf Samantha "Sam" Carstairs has his thoughts in total disarray. Will the attraction between them survive Noah's betrayal? And who else is after the secrets of the Lupine community?

Noah was without a doubt my favorite character in the last book, THE DEMON YOU KNOW, and I could hardly wait to dive into his story. Christine Warren didn't disappoint! Noah's story is as hard driving as one would expect from this soldier, loyal to the core. Seeing him torn between two loyalties is heart wrenching but only makes the happily-ever-after that much more enjoyable.

HOWL AT THE MOON can be read as a stand alone, as all of the stories in this series are written to stand alone. However, Noah is first introduced in the prior book and his loyalty to his sister demonstrated in that book helps soften the dilemma he finds himself in with this story. The insight into his character in THE DEMON RULE helps the reader fully appreciate just how troubling it is to him to have to essentially live a lie, as Noah is a man who values honesty.

HOWL AT THE MOON is my favorite to date of the Others series, mainly because of Noah. Christine Warren excels at writing memorable characters the reader can truly care about and Noah is without a doubt a shining example of this. Excellent!

4.0 out of 5 stars *Cool Paranormal Romance*, Feb 9 2010
By S Walker "S. Walker" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Howl at the Moon: A novel of The Others (Mass Market Paperback)
This was my 1st Christine Warren book. I have gotten disallusioned with some of the regular Paranormal Romance Series that I have been reading for years and was looking something fresh. This did it. I believe its book #4, so I will go back and read the 1st three books. I like the way the characters were written, they were smart, funny femine without being week, and masuline and all Alpha male the way we like, without going too far over the top to rediculously cartoon character stupidly alpha macho male to the point that they make no sense (can you sense some of the problems I am having with other series?). Even though it was a book that comprised characters that have already had there story, I did not feel left out by not having read all the previous books, Noah and Samantha's book stands well on its own, and got me interested enough to go back to the beginning. Noah and Samantha seemed like people you would like to hang out with and, sexy, REAL. People made mistakes and manned or wolfed up! and working the issues out was fun to read and got to be a paage turner to see what they were going to do next.

And the book while with a well written plot, was indeed about the hero/heroine and their relationship and how it developed. I like the way the story grew and the characters interacted.

1.0 out of 5 stars The end of the series, Oct 17 2011
By Stephen - Published on Amazon.com
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I imagine the author and publisher will be producing more books in this series, Not Your Ordinary Faerie Tale being one of them. However this is the end of the series for me. I really feel used when an author / publisher uses an established series to publish junk for profit. I have truly enjoyed the previous titles I have read and was actually looking forward to more enjoyable reading. However after slogging through page after page of drivel and running out of antacid and headache tablets I checked my kindle to see how much more I had to endure to get to the end. OH CRUD I was only half way through, thankfully I purchased it as an e book and so no trees were sacrificed to the gremlins of horrible writing. Thank you for REMOVE FROM DEVICE! The worst was Samantha, as I was slogging through the book I started thinking of her as a marshmallow and not in the soft and mushy way but in the spineless and brainless way. As the antacids and headache tabs disappeared I realized a marshmallow was being too kind. The image I finally settled on was that used and discarded chewing gum that you don't notice on the hot asphalt until you set in it, and as you look down to see the stringy bits running between your shoe and the pavement you sigh and go "oh Yuck". That's Samantha in the first half of the book, OH YUCK.
Sorry, this one was so bad that I couldn't finish it and as I have lost confidence in the author to produce a good story, Not Your Ordinary Faerie Tale in now off my wish list and is checked NOT INTERESTED on my Recommended For You list.
