Product Description

From Amazon.com

Bruce Willis's awful, 1991 vanity piece is an abuse of audience goodwill and a waste of a good cast and director (Michael Lehmann of Heathers). The story, cowritten by Willis, concerns a cat burglar pressured into stealing precious art, including some from the Vatican. But the script is just a convenience upon which Willis piles his vaguely boorish brand of hip irony, assuming his audience will stay with him every step of the way. Certain, self-congratulatory scenes induce cringing--Willis and Danny Aiello, for instance, sing "Side by Side" (to brassy accompaniment on the soundtrack) every time they're working a job--but the overall effect is more irritating and baffling. Keep a good thought for Willis (an underrated actor better than the summer junk we usually see him in) by checking out his superior work in Pulp Fiction and his small but memorable role in Billy Bathgate. --Tom Keogh

5.0 out of 5 stars This movie keeps getting better the more you see it., Aug 29 2003

This review is from: Hudson Hawk (Widescreen/Full Screen) (DVD)
I saw this movie years ago on HBO or Showtime, Thought... Ehhh.. Nothing big. The more times I saw this film the more I realized the amount of detail and elbow grease was put into it. You have to watch this and pay attention to the details. The cast of this movie was priceless. And Bruce and Danny make a hell of a duet.

No Blu-Ray version of this, but it was a nice price, adn added 30 cents to my shipping, what teh hell, right?

Lame extras, fair picture and audio quality.

Although it's not a so-great movie, i stil enjoy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Too cool for the time, Dec 23 2007
You may have heard about this film, one of the most notorious flops of 1991. I first saw this in the theatre in 1991. At the time I thought it was brilliant and like nothing else you had ever seen. A very odd combo of action film, romance, comedy and out and out weirdness. Not surprisingly this has become a cult film over the years and holds up very well today. Bruce Willis and the rest of the cast apear to be thoroughly enjoying themselves. So go treat yourself with the new special edition DVD.You have the commentary track from the old dvd along with a few new featurettes, deleted scenes and a trivia track. A fun way to while away an evening. Love it or loathe it you will not forget this movie.
