***SPOILERS***
So General Ross is dead and a bunch of people from the Marvel universe are going to his funeral. They all get up and talk about what a great guy he was. This happens in the real world all the time, as soon as someone is dead no matter how much of a scumbag they were when they were alive, when they die they are instantly seen as being saints who could do no wrong.
Why did no one at this funeral say, "I'm glad he's gone so he can't lead anymore pointless unprovoked attacks against the Hulk which result in the deaths of dozens of soldiers every time he feels the size of his manhood is too small compared to the Hulk's."
Then there's more fighting and Modok (god I hate this character), is collecting the 8 smartest men on the planet in order to power some strange technology. More random fighting happens and none of them are really that interesting. I mean who at Marvel thought, "Oh yeah, THIS is what our readers want to see! The Red Hulk fighting a bunch of monkeys. That'll really interest our readers and boost some sales!"
Then it REALLY gets stupid. A bunch of the Avengers, some of the X-men and the Fantastic Four show up and they are bombarded with gamma rays, or cosmic rays or something and they all get Hulk powers and they all look like the hulk and all start talking like the Hulk. LAME!!!
Now the last thing I wanna touch on is the cover. The title is "Fall of the Hulks." But none of the Hulks are ever in danger of being defeated in combat much less "fall." So the title is pointless. Also, why are Skaar and She-Hulk on the cover? They aren't even IN this comic!
***End spoilers***
This story is pretty bad but the artwork is good, which is the only saving grace of this book.

The hulk is one of my favorite marvel characters and I enjoyed this book. I love the art and I'm enjoying the story line as well and its great to see all these gamma spawned characters interact. Can't wait to read the finale of this one.

I was really looking forward to this book.
As we all know, Marvel tends to stretch their stories out across several titles. So when it's time to put the trade paperback together they only include the "A" story line into the book.
Now sometimes that works OK. But this time I felt kind of cheated reading this book. There was too much missing. I need a play book to help me figure out who all the new red guys and girls are. There's also too many subplots wandering around. The big let down was the Red Hulk vs Thing fight. It was such a tease. I was really ready for an old fashioned Marvel knock down drag out fight. Not there.
The art work lacked continuity in style which bothered me too.
So overall I was sadly disappointed.
'Nuff said.
