Mathias era: Eye II Eye - Humanity Hour I
This is the best recording from the «Mathias era», they reached another creativity peak on this one. I specially like albums that don't really get you on the first listening but rather grow on you to became addictive.
It's an album with a poetic and melodic line that follows through and that leans (though never in excess) towards sadness or dispair. It really tastes different from anything they created before.

The Game Of Life 10/10 (They've always been good at first and second songs right?)
We Were Born To Fly 9/10 (bit too long)
The Future Never Dies 7/10(with the exception of «a moment in a million years», piano and Scorpions don't make a good mix)
You're Lovin' Me To Death 10/10 (100% Rudy Schenker!)

We Will Rise Again 10/10 (Mathias at his best composing power ever...that's emotion man...)

The Scorpions 2007 release Humanity: Hour 1 is a typical latter day effort from this veteran German hard rock act. The album contains songs such as "We will rise again" that have the typical combination of well-tuned guitars and fairly considered lyrics. Lead singer Klaus Meine has a fairly modelated singing style in recent years which he employs here to typical effect. All in all, if a prospective buyer has a fairly good sense of this group's recent efforts, they won't be disappointed.

This is my favourite Scorpions album up to date.
Scorpions reinvent themselves here with new updated sound which is darker and heavier while keeping the melodies softer when songs call for it,without being cheesy.
The band sounds really good with thundering drum work of James Kottak and bass guitar Pawel Maciwoda,heavy and melodic guitars by Mathhias Jabs and Rudy Schenker while Klaus Meine vocals stay flawless.
Songs Hour 1,Game of Life,The Cross and title track Humanity stand out,but there is no fillers here,every song is amazing.
Well done Scorpions!
