Product Description

From Amazon.com

The misconception about this animated film from Disney was that it was a movie for kids--something Victor Hugo never had in mind. In fact, despite a cute brace of singing gargoyles who are Quasimodo's (Tom Hulce) best friends, this version of Hugo's classic tale is really adult entertainment, with a strong set of songs by Alan Menken. The story remains mostly the same (though tricked out with a happier ending than Hugo's): Quasimodo, the ward of repressive monk Frollo, falls for a gypsy girl named Esmerelda (Demi Moore)--though she loves one of the king's guards (Kevin Kline). But they are all put in jeopardy by the wicked Frollo, whose secret passion for Esmerelda leads him to seek her death. At times too dark and even a shade kinky, something that may scare younger viewers. --Marshall Fine

The Hunchback of Notre Dame Nov 18 2007
By Joel
Format:VHS Tape
Disney's "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" follows the themes of all of its movies, an outcaste hero, a evil villain and a beautiful heroine. The animation details bring the characters to full life and action, as does the comedy that is supplied by Quasimodo's three gargoyle friends. This being a Disney movie, the characters brake into song every 10 to 15 minutes. The songs add and expand the plot in a way with would catch children's ears. The songs are also sung be the characters voices in real life which adds to the effect. The plot is well developed and the theme of tolerance plays well to parents wanting their children to watch something that "teaches life lessons". I would highly recommend this movie to any parent who wants their kids to enjoy themselves and learn lessons at the same time. As a result, this Disney movie is a Disney classic and can be compared too with the likes of Cinderella and Bambe.

Probably the most detailed Disney film ever made. May 17 2004
Format:DVD
This is a really cool Disney flick because it is the least cartoonish. Everything about it is detailed, more so than some of the Pixar films. The animation is very intriquite and miraculously precise in bringing the Gothic city of Paris to life. The voice casting is very star studded and well done. The music is very good as well, and the score is very moody and probably the most dramatic of all the Disney films. It isn't the best but it is definately "the most".

LOVE IT LOL May 2 2004

Wow, this used to be my favorite movie ever. Actually favorite is an understatement. When it first came out in 1996, I was 6 years old, and I never got to see it in the movies, so my mom bought it on VHS when it came out. I fell in love with it, and I understood almost everything that was going on in it. Well now I'm 13, and I can't say it is still my favorite movie (Rain Man is now!!!), though it is my favorite Disney movie. This is one of those Disney movies that you have got to see. It doesn't just entertain you, it teaches you morals too. One is don't judge a book by it's cover. So now, I'm hoping to get it on dvd.
