Hunger Games Movie Charm Bracelet "Katniss District 12"

I love the feel, and look of my Katniss bracelet. It's a nice accessory I can wear with just about anything and only if someone looked closely would they know that it was from the Hunger Games unless I pointed it out or they were very observant.

I like the color of the metal and I actually make jewelry and the quality is not bad. The links are solid with no gaps. The back of the charms are stamped with a copyright symbol and the word "Lionsgate." My favorite charm is, of course, the Mockingjay. The 12 is really cool too. The Katniss charm is my least favorite but I don't mind it. I think it would have been better if the "coal" had been a little bit bigger but I still like it. There is a small metal tag that says, "The Hunger Games" which looks nice. The orange beads are plastic and the holes in them are too small for the heads of the pins that hold them on. To make up for this the manufacturer put a small plastic disc that reminds me of a plastic sequin. I didn't even notice this until after I got home from the premiere and noticed one of the two orange beads was gone I could see then that the plastic has some leeway and the bead simply popped off. I have other beads I can replace it with and I will have to put a better spacer at the bottom of the other bead if I want it to stay on though I will probably replace it with a better quality bead.

Overall I really like the Katniss Hunger Games bracelet, but I wish I didn't have to put it in my "fix" pile the first day I wore it (though I will fix it cause I love it!) but everyone does not have the beads or tools to fix their bracelet so I thought a heads up would be good. I love my katniss bracelet. I was worried that the charms might be too small, but they are actually a great size. The only one that is a little on the small side is the charm the says The Hunger Games. The chain is a great size also. I have gotten so many complements. This bracelet was worth the money. I love the Hunger Games! I would highly recommend the bracelet.

First, let me say that I'm 41 years old, and don't consider this a "toy." I'm simply a huge Hunger Games fan, as well as a writer of young adult fiction, which is obviously the Hunger Games' genre. I didn't even buy the bracelet to be worn around my wrist. I was looking for a Mockinjay pendant that was smaller and more elegant than the other ones I'd seen for sale. The Mockingjay charm on this bracelet, which is about the size of a nickel, is perfect for that purpose, so I simply removed it from the bracelet and now wear it on a chain around my neck. When I got the bracelet, the charm was quite tarnished, but rubbing it with a jewelry cleaning cloth solved that, and it now has the pleasing look of antiqued brass. I wear it with a gold chain and it looks beautiful.I also plan on having it electroplated at the jeweler's (it doesn't cost much) with either rhodium plating or a gold-toned plating to keep it from tarnishing and make it even shinier, although it still looks great the way it is. I'd suspect any girl who likes The Hunger Games would be thrilled to receive this, to either be worn as a bracelet or to use the charms, which are good quality, in other creative ways.
