I ordered two copies of this book for Christmas gifts after seeing the author on the Ellen show. I was a little disappointed though as many of the recipes call for substitutes for real food items. While I understand this is how the recipes are lower in calories, I guess I am just used to using real food with nutritional content. If you are just into the bottom line of knowing how many calories you eat, then this book would be great for you, but if you aren't a fan of chemicals and preservatives, you might want to look elsewhere!

Format: Paperback
The recipes in this book are easy, delicious and could change the way you live the rest of your life. There are so many tips and suggestions on how to cut down on calories and fat in the foods that you eat. It's opened my eyes to my past food selections so now I will make the right choices when planning my daily intake of calories. Even if I don't follow the recipes exactly, I'm still confident that I can select healthy alternatives.

Most of the recipes sound very good, but I am concerned with using food substances, like Splendid, instead of natural sugars and what that does to our bodies. Hopefully, I can modify the recipes with Agave nectar.

I had heard about Hungry Girl books and decided to borrow one from the library and try some of the recipes. Subsequently a week later I decided I had to have this book for my own and ordered it, as well as another Hungry Girl book. There's great, easy recipes and I sometimes substitute for other ingredients for a different taste. All in all, has helped with creating new meals.
