Product Description

Cast and Cast pull out all the stops and take this story to shattering new heights with devastating consequences! (Romantic Times (4 ½ stars) on Tempted)

P. C. And Kristin Cast have made an absolutely amazing [YA] series. The visuals offered by this fantastic duo are entertaining and imaginative, with nonstop action… This is easily a [YA] series that can entertain adults with action, hot Vampyres, true friendship, budding romance, a loving Goddess, and a twist of the unexpected. ( (5 stars) on Tempted)

I loved every one of the books in the [House of Night] series. Tempted is my definite favorite…. This book had me ripping through the pages. (Teen review on on Tempted)

Move over, Stephenie Meyer. (People on Hunted)

Zoey Redbird's first-person adventures take on added danger and importance in the latest House of Night release. Forced by circumstance to grow up quickly, Zoey's emotional and spiritual evolution is fascinating. The Cast duo breathes life and vibrancy into the characters and makes each one an integral part of the saga. Awesome and unforgettable as always! (Romantic Times (4.5 stars) on Hunted)

The Cast duo has done it again! These ladies appear to be an unstoppable force within the world of YA literature… Teenage readers will be drawn to Zoey's everyday, angst-riddled life. Not only does she need to save the world, Zoey needs to solve some major vampyre/human boy drama. These stories are surreal, yet shockingly accurate when it comes to teenagers and their lives. ( (5 stars) on Hunted)

The most masterful part of the writing lies in how the authors take on serious issues sex, peer pressure, bullying, parental alienation, religion, and substance abuse and weave them into the text. It is a refreshing perspective that doesn't feel like preaching. (Tulsa World on Hunted)

I absolutely loved this book…. I enjoyed the story line very much and thought that the authors had correctly portrayed the mind of a teenager…. I would recommend this book to vampyre fans and anyone who would enjoy a wondrous fantasy story. (Teen review on on Hunted)

An exceptional vampire tale… P.C. and Kristin Cast do a phenomenal job. ( on Hunted)

Hunted is an appealing supernatural thriller… The exciting storyline is filled with teenage angst as Zoey struggles with choices that would cause PTSD in most adults…. This fine entry casts a strong spell on readers. ( on Hunted)

A richly nuanced standout… Even when she's confused, even when she's embroiled in teen-angst, Zoey's choices, delivered in fresh first person, seem believable. Even better? They seem smart…. This series has dark themes and subject matter, but the Cast team delivers them with sparkling dialogue, wry humor, and realistic characters driven by genuine humanity. ( on Hunted)

This is a series that should not be missed! (

Chosen, The House of Night series book 3, is like the cream in an Oreo cookie holding the two ends together. This story is gearing up for the final showdown between Zoey and Nepheret and mother and daughter team, P.C. and Kristen Cast are setting the stage perfectly for this….Again, P.C. Cast is an auto-buy author for me and this series is also on that auto-buy list. (Paranormal Romance Reviews)

Betrayed continues the House of Night series in a chilling fashion. PC and Kristin Cast once again prove their talent in telling a tale filled with all the normal teenage angst compounded with becoming a Vampyre….If you liked the first book in the series, you'll love this one! (Paranormal Romance Reviews)

Marked is one of the best coming of age stories to come out of Oklahoma since S. E. Hinton's The Outsiders. It teaches about the beauty of being a social outcast, friendship, and finding your own inner spirituality. (The Beltane Papers)

Format: Hardcover
Hunted is, without question, a great addition to the House of Night collection. I was waiting and waiting for this newest book to be released and devoured it in one day. The story is good and the characters are vibrant and involved. The only complaints I have are:
a) How much longer are they going to have Zoey ALWAYS having 3 boyfriends. It's quite unrealistic and a bit over the top.
b) I wish the story would move faster or be longer to cover more ground. The further I get into the series, the slower time passes. I understand that a lot is going on, but it would be great to see the characters meeting challenges through the years as they go through their schooling at House of Night. I think this latest book only covered less than a week of time.
c) It's poorly edited. Lots of word calling grandma Redbird Stevie-Ray's grandma instead of Zoey's. Missing words and poor grammar. I think it's just because they are trying to get these books out so quickly that some things fall through the cracks, but it throws you off when you're really getting into the story and pulls you out of the moment.

Those things aside, Hunted is a great read and fits in well with the rest of the series for writing style and flow. Overall a good story, and I am looking forward to Tempted - coming out later this year.

Zoey life has been nothing but easy since her change. Her friends and herself have been put through things that not only tested their friendship, but their loyalty to their goddess. Yet their loyalty is tested to the extreme, as everyone one in their school turns away from the goddess and into the evil arms of Kalona. It’s up to Zoey to stick with her goddesses, and pick good over evil. But would Zoey be able to resist Kalona, who is anything but a fallen angel to her.

The book starts off in the tunnels. Stevie Rae, the red vampires, Zoey, Aphrodite, the “Nerd herd”, Erik, and Darius. Soon Heath joins the bunch making all of our charters present in the tunnels. Zoey and her friends have to group together in order to defeat Kalona. But Zoey is not so sure. Is he truly evil? After all he was an angle at one point, doesn't that mean there is a little good? As Zoey debates this, she is also face with another boy issue. Wow, what a shock. Zoey having more than one guy fall in love with her? What a plot twist. Not only is there Erik and Heath, but now Stark then former dead guy, who she known for one day and shared a kiss while he was dying. And now her feelings for Kalona whom Zoey cannot see that he is evil. Zoey is again keeping something from her friends, as she knows keeping secrets works so well. Yet this secret is about her past, something only Kalona known about.

P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast are running dry with this series. They main plot is still going strong, just the little sub-plots are drying up. Seriously, how many boys can she make fall in love with Zoey at a time? It seems like every book a new guy is falling in and out of love with her. And the lies/secrets Zoey keeps from her friends. Like did any of the last ones end well? Then why does she keep doing it.

I really like this series and with the way the last book ended I expected that Hunted would have a lot more action to the story. With Kalona being set free and Neferet turning her back on the Goddess, I thought there would be an all out vampire war with Zoey's camp vs. Kalona and Neferet. That didn't happen; the story wasn't exciting and felt more like set up book for things to come.

Also, Zoey has way too many guys in her life and it's just getting more and more complicated. I was so frustrated with Zoey in this book. She can't make up her mind and add to the fact that she has feelings for each of the guys. She has a human consort (Heath), vampire mate (Erik), sworn protector (Stark) and Kalona who sees Zoey as the reincarnation of his lost love. I feel like Zoey's boyfriend issue is just dragged over from book to book and I can't wait till it's finally resolved.

As you can tell from this review, I was not a fan of this book but will probably continue with series just because I've read so many of the books already and I want to know how the story will progress.

Two blood-spilling attacks equal two bodies dangerously close to death. One results in unprecedented access to Red Vampyre psyche; the other prompts Zoey and friends to return to a drone-like House of Night to avoid another fledgling death.

Kalona, convinced that Zoey is his reincarnated soul mate, pursues her in the flesh and through her dreams. Zoey fights to overcome the magical-inflicted attraction she has for this demon so she can focus her energy on defeating him and Neferet.

Other naturally occurring romantic problems bud once again, but are ignored for the time being as Zoey tries to sort out other gut-alarming inconsistencies she senses in actions of friends and foes.

When I started to read this series, I hoped it would go on forever, but now, I'm not so sure: This book, while entertaining, did not satisfy. It, like the last two, felt like a set-up for the next installment, with no real climax ever occurring. I hope the authors make up for this style of writing by pulling together all of the captivating threads they've left hanging for one doozy of a conclusion that ends this particular string of the character's adventures.
