Amelia Curran: Hunter-Hunter,
By
This review is from: Hunter, Hunter (Audio CD)
Although I purchased War Brides at the same time as Hunter x 2, I was lucky to preview her live performance on CBC radio where I downloaded it and pumped it into my gymn-mix iPod. Her music is great to work out to... and loaded with Mind Iron (Irony) and catchy anaerobic flare-oids. Her extremely fine tuned backing musicianship shows that she keeps good and talented company. I look for a 12 String and a Banjo in the background of some of her songs next CD. This woman proves you you can't kill Folk Music without killing the best parts of yourself.

Another brilliant Amelia Curran album,

This review is from: Hunter, Hunter (Audio CD)
War Brides War Brides has been one of my favourite albums almost since it came out, so I was happy to see Amelia Curran had released this one and it didn't disappoint. It has all the same great folk sound but without sounding recycled. Bye Bye Montreal is the first track and just sinks into it in all the right ways. Like I said with War Brides, buy this if you like good folk that isn't overly sweet.

Amazing, uplifting and spellbinding. Amelia Curran is a female Leonard Cohen-- Canada's newest lyrical icon.
