Awesome pack Dec 30 2010

I've used this backpack for a little over a year now and would recommend it to anyone looking for a small day-pack. While not your lightest option, this pack has the durability to endure all the abuse you can put it through. Whether your a mountain biker going through over-grown tails or a hunter crawling through manzanita, this pack will last. The front pouch has a mesh pouch and key holder and with the m.o.l.l.e straps you can add your own accessories to it. I haven't experienced any leaks in the bladder but that can be cheaply replaced if does occur. One of my best outdoor purchases.

Indestructible awesome backpack May 29 2012

I have taken this backpack everywhere, and it still is in the same condition as I bought it. It has been through concerts, ski trips, bike trips, to the pool, to the beach, anything you can think of. It's a good size bladder in it, being 2.5 liters, you can stay out all day if you toss some granola bars in the bag. The sheathing on rubber hose also sort of keeps it insulated, so when its cold it doesnt freeze (at above 25 deg). The bag itself is constructed excellent, and has ample spots to attach more things on the outside if you need to. If this is still available when my current pack breaks, I will be getting another one. (had for a year now)

So close to multi-c... What? What do you mean I can't say that? May 31 2013

I'm a US Soldier and I am deployed right now. I wanted a Camelbak like hydration system that had pockets to carry stuff around in. The one issued to me just wasn't cutting it.I came across this one and the price was right, and look, it almost exactly matches my uniform (Why it is called desert tan camo in the title I'm not quite sure :-\ ).

Quality wise I'm very impressed. In a range from 1 to 10, where one is a Chinese dollar store book bag that falls apart in the rain, And 10 is my assault pack issued to me by the Army, I would give it a solid 7. You don't get what you pay for with this, you get more. Especially when compared to those high price Camelbacks. So why four stars instead of 5? Three small, knit picky things.

1. The title. I know they cannot use the name of the camouflage used in my uniform. Or maybe I am completely wrong on that. But the title makes me think it is completely tan in color. If you buy it without reading the reviews, do you trust the picture or do you trust the title? Maybe a title like "multi color desert camouflage"? You know, something that fits the picture.

2. It comes with a bladder, that's a plus. But there's no really easy way to access the bladder. I guess I'm just really used to the one I'm issued in the Army, were you just unscrew the cap on the back and fill it up with water. With this one, you have to undo the velcro on the back, and wrestle a little bit with a bladder to get access to the water cap. While, with other hydration systems where the bladder is an integral part of the bag, the bladder on this one just sits in a padded pocket on the back of the bag. Not a big deal in my opinion, but definitely something worth noting.

3.The shoulder straps. I'm a little hesitant to even list this, because actually the straps are perfectly fine. But being perfectly fine isn't being perfect. The bag has a cross strap that snaps together across your chest connecting the two shoulder straps. There should be two of those naps at the bottom of the shoulder straps instead of just the slide adjusters that are there now. A $0.05 snap would make this bag just that much more versatile. Again maybe I'm just used to what I'm issued in the Army.

That's about it. So in the end, it's a great bag for the price. The camouflage is close enough for government work, and it holds a lot for its size. I have not had a chance to give it an endurance test yet, but the material and the craftsmanship looks good enough to hold up. Is it starts to fall apart for some stupid reason a month or two from now, I'll come back and edit my review.

****EDIT*****: so apparently they took my advice about the title not matching the picture, but instead of changing the title, they changed the picture (and possibly the product). One of the main selling points of the bag was the camo pattern. If it had been the tan of there stock picture, I would never have gotten it. Maybe they ran out of inventory.

it was pretty much what i expected. although it says desert camo it has an awful lot of green in it. it has one compartment for the bladder and two more to carry your personal stuff. plenty of room for all your junk. for the price i paid, i couldn't be more satisfied. a good deal...thanx.

Hydration Pack Aug. 9 2012
By John Q - Published on
Color: Tan
I have used this pack 3 times already. The bladder is pretty thick and durable. For the price payed I am quite happy with it. I was mountain biking the other day and flew off my bike rolling on my back. Checked the bag and bladder for the damage and was happy nothing was damaged.

Like the other review said it's a bit greener than expected.
