About the Artist
Bobby Susser, M.A. Communication Arts and Sciences and Early Childhood Education, Columbia University, has written and produced original, easy-to-learn, award winning children's songs for over twenty-five years as well as the internationally acclaimed, "Once You Understand," for teenagers. Three times, he has been awarded the Early Childhood News Directors' Choice Award, Dr. Toy's /The Institute of Childhood Resources' "Best Children's Vacation Products Award," and the Parents' Choice Award for his ongoing series, "Bobby Susser Songs For Children." He has also contributed and recorded an official theme song to the world renowned St. Jude Children's Hospital. Bobby Susser chooses and works with several types of singers and musicians depending upon the song, style, and subject matter. He feels that the performance as well as the song must be believable, honest, and sincere. These important qualities are the running threads throughout his original songs and activities. Listen to his songs and you'll discover a serious and careful effort to help kindle imagination, empathy, understanding, compassion, and socialization in our children, (in a most entertaining way) which are key elements in the development of self. This CD that I play regularly for my preschool class is a very unique one for young children to learn some basics. It is filled with all the things that make Bobby Susser's songs and activities so appealing to the kids. The music is great. Ben E. King, who is doing most of the singing on this Susser CD is at his finest. The combination of songs, music, vocalists, and subjects like letter sounds, numbers, colors, music, friendship, holidays, and a lovely lullabye all written and produced by Bobby Susser and sung by Ben E. King, absolutely demonstrates that these songs for learning basic skills, sound and are great for young children. Adults will enjoy these songs as much as the children do.

Bobby Susser and Ben E. King make a great team for this collection of songs that teach basic skills to the children in my day care center. Mr. Susser's songs and productions keep my little ones interested and involved as they learn about colors, letter sounds, friendship, numbers, music, rhythm, holidays, etc. Mr. King sings the songs with feeling and ease. The combination of these two men makes this basic skills collection a favorite for my kids.

This CD contains great songs that my young children sang along with the first time they heard them. The activities are great. The songs have great beats and melodies. The singing is friendly and extremely inviting. We think that Ben E. King is great. We think that Bobby Susser is great. Our kids think the entire CD is great. What a wonderful way for young children to learn important basics like some letter sounds, colors, numbers, and friendship.
