We have well over 500 books in English, Spanish, French and Chinese. Yeah, I'm afraid you heard it right...you should see our bookshelves!! But seriously books are very important to us. I can say, without a doubt, that this book is our absolute favorite. It never goes on the shelf. It has been memorized by everyone in the house. It is an ode to self esteem like no other. I know there have been a rash or books written with the purpose of boosting kids self-esteem, but this one BLOWS THE REST OUT OF THE WATER.
The illustrations are so wacky that the kids just can't stop laughing! But seriously they have a smile on their faces and feel good after reading this story. They love to shout "I like myself because I'm ME!" at the end.
"I don't care in any way what someone else may think or say. I may be called a silly nut or crazy cuckoo bird --so what? I'm having too much fun, you see, for anything to bother me!"
