This was the first book I have ever bought on IC. Diana Brady has nice drawings on the bladder make up and structure.Read about how cells are affected in your bladder along with nerves and the muscle layer being inflamed. There are several reasons a person may have IC this book offers several remedies you can take to help work with the problem. I love the book.I've had IC since I was four years old. I got the flu and went to a hospital for dehydration. Shelley my nurse put an IV in me and a catheder in me I screamed that night at the hospital. I got a urinary tract infection when I got home that turned into IC with in 3 days. I'm 33 I've had IC for 29 years. When stomach acid goes into the bladder, I drink up a little baking soda in warmed water. Cold fluid and air aggrevates the nerves and muscle layer in the bladder.
Good luck finding a remedy that fits you, it takes a while some of the ones in the book are worth a try and they may take a while to kick in, its a slow process to improving a bladder that internally damages its self. Drink more water and don't check your bladder to often, it becomes a habit and it puts more acid down and makes you go more. Most of all relax -read the book, its excellent!
