LOUD Nov. 4 2011

It was hard finding a thermal solution for my super micro dual xeon board and these were the best reviewed with the least amount of hassle. In bios and under heavy load these things scream, like loud enough for the people sleeping upstairs to gear them clearly. With that said my dual xeon system hardly ever reaches that point unless in bios for extended periods and these things do a good job at keeping the chips cool.
the thing that has me upset is that this thing sounds like a jet plane taking off May 25 2015

This fits perfectly on my Rampage Extreme motherboard and is the easiest install of all heat sinks that I have ever bought. the thing that has me upset is that this thing sounds like a jet plane taking off. The noise is awful . I don't think that I'm going to keep it as no one in my household can stand it. I'm trying to find a way to silence it before deciding to return it. Looks like I'm going to have to spend twice as much for a Noctua, it looks like It may fit just as well on my 1366 board.

Well, It is exactly what it is intended for, an Intel LGA 1366 CPU Socket. Fits perfectly on the Supermicro X8DTN+ motherboard.

Server MB only. Feb. 10 2010

Be sure your MB requires this specific type.
Servers might, Workstation/Servers might not.
Make sure vendor does NOT ship item in a paper bag.
(Oh yea, some will...)
