I was so excited when it arrived. I pulled it out of the box, read the instructions, and plugged it in. Immediately after placing the needle on one of my records, it started skipping. At first, I thought that maybe the record itself was scratched, but after putting at least four other records on it, I discovered that it was a problem that didnt originate from the vinyl. I do not know if it is just that mine is broken or something, but I am very upset about the functionality of this player. A few days ago, I went on the Ion Audio website and contacted the support email, but i have still heard nothing. If I still dont hear anything in the next few days, I am returning it to get a different player. Completely dissatisfied and upset that it is skipping around. Do not reccomend buying. This deserves no stars at all.
So I called the phone number listed on the website in the "support" section, but all I got was an error saying "We're sorry, but this phone number has been disconnected." Very strange.
Turns out that I had just been calling the wrong number. I called support and they were very helpful. They sent me an RMA number and I sent it to them to be replaced. When I pulled the new one out of the box, though, I noticed that the player that ION had sent me was not in fact a ION Live LP, but a Forever LP. Thinking, "it does the same stuff, why not just use this instead of having to go through the trouble of calling them and sending it back". So I put a record on and sat down on my couch to read a book. Not even one minute in and I started hearing skips again. I put a different record on to see if it was an isolated incident, but unfortunately it was not. Strangely though, the same thing that happened with the first one happened to this new one as well: newer records skip but older ones don't. Two *different* record player models that *both* don't work. I am, again, severely disappointed. I am returning this back to Amazon.com and getting my money back. I can't deal with it. Clearly this company needs to work on the design of their tonearms.
