Product Description

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs opens with the stitched-together prehistoric family about to become a biological one: Manny (voiced by Ray Romano) and his mate Ellie (Queen Latifah) are expecting a baby mammoth. Unfortunately, this makes Sid the sloth (John Leguizamo) and Diego the saber-toothed tiger (Denis Leary) feel left out. Diego, who worries he's losing his edge, decides to head out on his own, while Sid adopts three suspiciously large eggs that he's found through a crack in the ice. Up to this point, the movie is perilously sappy--does anyone, particularly a kid, want to watch a kid's movie about parenthood and impending middle age? Fortunately, the eggs turn out to be dinosaur eggs from a pre-mammalian underworld, and when the mama T-Rex comes to rescue her rambunctious little ones, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs transforms into a delightful comic adventure. The emotional side of the Ice Age movies has always been a tad mawkish, so it's smart that Dawn of the Dinosaurs emphasizes physical comedy. Clearly, the animators have been inspired by a wild fusion of Road Runner cartoons and Buster Keaton. The character of Scratte, with his non-verbal, monomaniacal efforts to get that last acorn (doubled in this movie with the addition of a female counterpart), is only the most obvious reflection of this sensibility. The animators have great fun with the differences in scale between the mammals and the dinosaurs, and the introduction of a deranged Australian weasel named Buck (Simon Pegg, Shaun of the Dead) pushes everything into Loony-Tune territory. Let Pixar tug at our heartstrings; Ice Age aims to tickle the funny bone and does a fine job of it. --Bret Fetzer

Great movie and kids really enjoyed it. Disappointed in the 3D format as my purchased 3D glasses did nothing for the movie and the glasses that came with the DVD are very flimsy and also did not exploit the 3D format. Paid too much, should have settled for blue ray format only. The maker of this 3D dvd failed.

As a rule sequels tend to get worse as the franchise goes forward in time. Not true about this this one. Ice Age 3 has the humour of the previous movies and character development of the leads. Additional new characters add to the plot without diminshing the attention to the buddy flick character group. The concurrent plot of squirrel romance over the acorn keeps young and old laughing throughout the movie. The baby dinosaurs stole their scenes, and were a handful for our poor bewildered sloth.
We thought that this was a good purchase. People of all ages will find this movie hilarious, and just the right length for all attention spans!

Dawn of the Dinosaurs is fun, entertaining and surprisingly the best of the Ice Age Trilogy. It has an original story that includes new and interesting characters, along with some very witty humour, but especially its the epic-scope animation that makes this film fantastic. It's gorgeous on blu-ray. Additionally, there are a number of great extras including a commentary, numerous featurettes, shorts and video, plus a build-your-own storybook interactive tool. Highly recommended for fans of the Ice Age series, and anyone interested in great entertainment and animation on blu-ray.

I was prepared to be underwhelmed by ICE AGE 3..Imagine my surprise after watching it ,it was the best movie out of the three...How could I have missed it when it was theatrically released?..Maybe the studio thought it was a turkey and did nothing to promote it.The animation was superb, the story entertaining for children (some scenes MAY be too scary for youngsters) & adults and very well written..A hidden gem in plain sight!

Arrived in good time and in good condition. Video and audio as expected.

Fitting carry-on of the series. One of the better ones, this would be my second favourite, after the first one.

These movies are my favourite children's shows. I don't yet have kids, but I have all four of the IceAge movies, and will buy others if they are made!
