Product Description

Product Description

Carol Michaels is a struggling freshman. She feels out of place. She misses her boyfriend. And she hates being on the soccer team since her best friend quit and bossy Jenny Jenson became captain. Life is hard. Then a strange video game arrives in the mail. From the moment she and her brother Josh begin to play, something doesn't feel right. Suddenly, lightning explodes in their living room. Before they can wonder if their parents will ground them, they find themselves inside the game! Carol and Josh enter a world where a sorceress conjures hot dogs for lunch, pigots work for the bad guy, and there are giant scary things worse than Jenny Jenson. Or are there?

4.0 out of 5 stars A John Zakour Fan Reviews Illusia, Sep 15 2008
By Dale D. Mcclinton - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Illusia (Paperback)
I have read all of John Zakour's books and been a fan of his comic strip Working Daze as long as he has been writing it. I enjoy the irreverent banter he assigns to his characters. Illusia, being a "kid's" book was a bit different than his others but the feel of the book is the same - rollingly iconoclastic. I found the charaacters to be both believable and appealing. The story line was predictable but engaging. The story twists and puns were reminiscent of Piers Anthony and I liked that. Well done, John.
