Book Description

April 1 2010 25

Following the success of Illustration Now!, this installment presents a new selection of illustrators from all around the world on a budget price. Whereas the first volume brought together a fascinating mix of star illustrators and brand new faces that together formed the face of illustration around the world, Illustration Now! Vol. 2 is even more exciting, featuring illustrators from over 20 countries, with styles ranging from cutting edge to traditional. Also included is a dialog between design specialist Steven Heller and German illustrator Christoph Niemann about illustration’s role in the world today. This book is perfect not only for creative professionals and illustration students, but also artists and anyone with an appreciation for visual language.

5.0 out of 5 stars Taschen is great at whatever they make Nov. 27 2013

This book is for those who love Taschen's great choice in pictures. This is another example why it pays to spend more for a beautifully designed book, even if you're not a graphic designer or illustrator, this book is just lovely to look at.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shelf Inspiration Nov. 2 2012

***(Note: the same review for Vol. 3, but they really do get better to me as they go-- worth the $7 + shipping I paid for it)

When I'm looking for some new artists or my inspiration folder is lacking, I'll check out these books and they rarely disappoint. Sort of an odd "con" out of it, but why is the hardcover cheaper than the paperback? I prefer the latter, but the hardcovers do look nicer on the shelf in my office.

Not exactly a "must buy", but it's most certainly good for thumbing through for inspiration or to find new favorites.

The book is an awesome box of inspiration!

From the very first illustration to the last one you can find lots and lots of great drawing techniques & ideas.

It's a must if you are a designer, an illustrator or just a person who loves this kind of contemporary art.

1.0 out of 5 stars Same old, same old Oct. 22 2010

Yawn. Nothing staler than stale graphics.
Same stuff we've been seeing in computer arts magazines ad nauseam for years.
Emphasis on over-refined, cutesy, flashy and computer generated imagery.
If you're hoping for something intelligent and inspiring, go elsewhere.
You get what you pay for with this one.
