Following "Bravo Two Zero", Andy McNab now tells of his experiences in the world's most highly trained and efficient Special Forces unit, in this audio cassette version of his book. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

From the Publisher

He is one of the most highly decorated soldiers alive. He is also the first tobreak the code of silence about the most elite fighting force in the world. What Andy McNab has to say is so explosive that the British government tried tostop him.

A street fighter, a hard case, and a flawless soldier, Andy McNab became one ofthe elite fighting men in "the Regiment"--Britain's covert SAS. His actionsbehind the lines in the Gulf War made him a hero. But the full story of hislife and his amazing career in Special Forces has remained a secret...untilnow.

In harrowing detail, McNab takes us inside the Regiment, chronicling nine yearsof covert operations on five continents. Plunging us into a world ofsurveillance, counterintelligence, and hostage rescue, he takes us behind thescenes on some of their top secret missions. For the first time, he revealsthe shocking details of their training--physically severe, mentally grueling, and sometimes deadly. And he dares to expose some of their highlyconfidential codes and rules--including the one that sanctions murder.

This is the story of the fighting men of the SAS. Here is how they live. Andhere is how they die...

Andy McNab, Sergeant, SAS, joined the British infantry as a boy soldier. In1984 he was "badged" as a member of the SAS--the British special forces--andhas since been involved in elite intelligence and combat operations worldwide.During the Gulf War he commanded Bravo Two Zero, a patrol that in the words ofhis commanding officer "will remain in regimental history forever." After sixmonths of medical treatment immediately following his release by the Iraqis,Andy McNab was back on active service. He remained with the SAS until February1993, at which time he was the most highly decorated soldier in the BritishArmy. He is also the author of Bravo Two Zero.

5.0 out of 5 stars A God Amongst Men, July 15 2004

Andy McNab lives the life many dream of but do not have the cahones to do so. This book gives one an insight into the life and mentality of an SAS agent. I found myself picturing myself as McNab in many different parts like when he did selection and was in Brize Norton etc.

My only reason for writing this review is to share the profound influence this book and BTZ has had on my life. Before reading these books i would have never envisioned myself doing anything in the military because my interests lie elsewhere. Now, I would join in a heart beat if i hadn't already committed myself to law. Next Summer basic training for sure.

"Proper Planning and Preparation prevents piss poor performance"

Nothing rings truer.

McNab, I know you will probably never see this, but thank you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Truth once again trumps fiction, Feb 18 2009

Great read. I am an Andy McNab fan since Bravo Two Zero and have enjoyed his Nick Stone series immensely, but this book remains my favourite. There is something very candid and up-front about this book, and McNab does not seem to step away from his own mistakes in judgement. The level of detail, as well as the subject matter, of this book make for marvelous reading. I've picked this book up many times over the years.

That being said, there are some weaknesses as well. The book does not so much conclude as simply peter out, and I find the antidrug operations among the least interesting areas of the book. Also, the splashy "The book the British government tried to suppress!" and the back cover blurb are just plain silly. Let the material stand on its own; it has the strength to do so.
