Product Description

In Between Dreams is the multi-platinum selling smash from Jack Johnson. The album features classics like "Banana Pancakes", "Better Together" and "Good People".

For a man who gets his biggest kicks surfing the waves and strumming his guitar on a lonely beach in native Hawaii, singer-songwriter Jack Johnson has carved out quite a remarkable career on the mainland. His 2003 album, On and On, debuted at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 and subsequently went platinum on the back of hit single "The Horizon Has Been Defeated." The follow-up, meanwhile, seems destined to shine even brighter. The drifting chords and soft voice are still in place, only now Johnson's instinct for melody has sharpened alongside his ability to self-edit. These small concessions make third album, In Between Dreams, his most conspicuous, particularly on tracks like the three-minute relationship drama, "Sitting, Waiting, Wishing," and "Breakdown," a song he originally recorded for Handsome Boy Modeling School's White People album remade here to reveal its full stripped-down loveliness. Imagine all the coconuts it will buy. -- Aidin Vaziri

Another fantastic album from Jack Johnson. He has the wonderful ability to make easy listening without being boring. Like his two previous albums, the sound puts you in such a wonderful place. I can just imagine sitting on the beach in Hawaii without a care in the world, thus, it makes a wonderful CD to listen to while sitting in traffic because it takes your mind away from the hustle and fuss of the rat race. Also like his previous albums, I am not at all compelled to skip any songs for I can never decide which song I would like to hear over the other ones and I always want to hear the album with start to finish. I get the feeling that his geographical location (Hawaii)when recording the album eliminates a lot of the factors that could taint his music if he recorded somewhere on continental North America. His recording setting of Hawaii allows for truly original music.
I can't wait for the summer so I can sit out on my porch with a beer and some friends while Jack plays in the background.

Wow. Jack Johnson never fails to dissapoint. This CD is definately full of instant classics, just like his other releases. If you were a fan of him before, you will still love him now.
He has moved from a completely unplugged sound to a more studio acoustic sound, but the mellow effect isn't lost. He also focuses more on happy relationships on this record, and as always, the songwriting is extremely clever.
I would highly recommend this album to anyone who has On and On or Brushfire Fairytales, and to those of you out there who are looking for a CD to throw on to take you away somewhere sunny.

This is an amazing C.D. I'd say its the most uptempo and upbeat of all Jack's albums thus far. My favorites are "Sitting, Waiting, Wishing", "Breakdown", "Better together" and "Good People". While "Breakdown" is one of the slower songs in the album, it has such a great melody and some fantastic lyrics to back it. The two catchiest songs are definetely "Sitting, Waiting, Wishing" and "Good People". Both have really fantastic percussion and stripped down instrumentals.
This is a must- buy C.D. Worth every penny.

From his first two cd's Brushfire, and On and On you can definatley tell the difference on In Between Dreams. But this is hardly a bad thing. Although the music is slightly different and another side of Jack, it's still Jack, which makes this CD and the tracks on it incredible. Very easy to listen to, great lyrics, even the cd cover itself is pretty cool. Overall great CD.

Jack Johnson knows now how to make an album. He has no need to change styles or rework ideas. He knows what sounds good and what doesen't.He has found his rhythem and he has learnt how to write great songs. It is the most chilled out album you will find.Jack sounds like he is very chilled and happy on the album. For anyone stressed out there this album is for you.

It's still Jack but doesn't quite have the same feel as 'Brushfire Fairytales' or 'On and On'.
Although there are some different sounds coming out of this one, there's no need for worries, Jack's still making beautiful music. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
The album jacket is attractive and really nicely put together.
I hope you enjoy.

Jack Johnson's third album "In Between Dreams" is average compared to his first album "Brushfire Fairytales". Compared to all the other music that is circulating now, In Between Dreams is good, but if you have listened to BF you know that is the best thing that ever came out of Jack Johnson. NO COMPARISON!! Go out and buy "BRUSHFIRE FAIRYTALES"

Great CD. Maybe not as good as On & on & Brushfire, but definately pure Jack. I could listen to it over and over again... Great music for chillin' on the beach, or maybe just on your deck in suburbia ;) Oh well...we can't all life the surfer life...but his music can make you feel like you are!
