Victoria Records presents "IN RETROSPECT", Brett has recorded three albums as a leader, In Your Own Sweet Way, Bad to the Bone, and In Retrospect. The latter (and most recent CD) features twelve original compositions written for five trombones and rhythm section. It was produced as a retrospective glimpse of Brett's last 32 years as an arranger and educator.
Stamps has a lot of "Brass" in this his latest album with Brett Stamps, Cody Henry, Jim Martin, Jim Owens and Dave Stamps (trombones), Rick Haydon (guitar), Reggie Thomas (piano), Zebadiah Briskovich (bass) and Miles Vandiver (drums) - which fills our speakers and minds with the best jazz around today.
The performers (with the exception of Jim Martin) are former students who completed degrees at SIUE and established successful music careers of their own. Rick, Reggie, Miles, Zeb and Jim Martin are faculty at SIUE. Dave is Associate Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Northern Colorado. Jim Owens and Cody Henry are freelance musicians in St. Louis.
