About the Author
Elizabeth Griffen, M.A. is a licensed marriage and family therapist with over 20 years of treating sexual disorders.
Patrick J. Carnes, Ph.D.,is a nationally-known speaker on addiction and recovery issues. He is the author of Out of the Shaddows, Contrary to Love, A Gentle Path Through the 12 Steps and Don't Call It Love. He is the clinical director for sexual disorder services at The Meadows in Wickenburg, Arizona. Carnes is the editor-in-chief of Sexual Addiction and Compulsivity: The Journal of Treatment and Prevention, the official journal of the National Council of Sexual Addiction/Compulsivity, an organization for which he also serves as a board member. He also serves on the national advisory board of the American Academy of Health Care Providers in the Addictive Disorders.

There is a reason Tiger Woods went to Patrick Carnes when he needed rehabilitation for his sexual addiction. This is a profession work with amazing personal stories by addicts. Having been to Gentle Path myself I can vouch that his approach really works. Head and Shoulders above the competition by a professional with 30 years of experience working with sex addicts and sexaholics.

very thorough treatment of cybersex and internet porn addiction with psychological & emotional etiology -- discusses the cunning, baffling, powerful addiction of the internet & its ease of access to pornographic sites & cybersex chat rooms -- carries through to the financial & interpersonal & legal expenses that may result from this addiction as well as destroyed families & lost employment

If youknow someone who is addicted to sex or porn this is a great way to get some idea of what IS going on in their head. It is NOT a cure all book. It explains the flawed thinking that can occur when a person becomes literally as addicted to sex/porn as, say, Tiger Woods.
