5.0 out of 5 stars bond book, April 14 2009

Alot has been added from the first edition which I also found very useful. This is the type of no-nonsense financial advice that Canadians need today. Should someone have heeded his advice they would have avoided the blowups in ABCP, and income trusts.

Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars radiates common sense, Sep 10 2009

This book radiates common sense. It takes investors to the natural realization that investing directly in bonds will trump funds, or complex structures like Principle Protected notes or insurance contracts. A product engineered by a financial institution will always be in the best interest of the institution, not the investor.

This book also strikes an unusually nice balance between comprehensive coverage of the subject and a style understandable to the average investor. As an Investment Advisor, I have given this book to my clients, and have got nothing but positive feedback. Keep up the good work Hank!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Insights, Jun 4 2010
By
This review is from: In Your Best Interest: The Ultimate Guide to the Canadian Bond Market (Paperback)
This book is very insightful into the often obscure world of the bond market. I am an experienced financial professional, and I thought it was one of the most practical books that an investor can read. Even though I am primarily an equity investor, this book has great insights and should be read by anyone that is thinking about retirement.
