Product Description
Louis Riel was a politician and a founder of the province of Manitoba. He was also leader of the MÈtis nation. He led his people in two rebellions against the government. He spent much of his adult life in exile in the United States. When he was 41, he was arrested and hanged for treason. Although he is Canada's most famous rebel, many people now view Riel as a hero who stood up for his people.
