Anchor Bay's Incredible Hulk double-disc set offers The Incredible Hulk Returns (1988) and The Trial of the Incredible Hulk (1989), the first two of three made-for-TV movies featuring the Marvel Comics monster hero that aired after the CBS series' demise in 1982. Both discs also include a considerable amount of supplemental material, including interviews with star Lou Ferrigno and comic book legend Stan Lee. Bill Bixby returns as tormented scientist David Banner (in addition to executive producing Returns and directing Trial), as does Ferrigno as his green-skinned alter ego. In both titles, they are paired with other Marvel creations; in Returns, Banner is joined by the Mighty Thor to thwart industrial espionage, and in Trial, he's defended by blind lawyer Matt Murdock (Rex Smith), a.k.a. Daredevil. The Incredible Hulk Returns and The Trial of the Incredible Hulk are presented in their original full-frame format, and feature colorful menus as well as multiple chapter selections. Returns offers two interview segments: "Muscling in on Movies" is a 25-minute conversation with Ferrigno about his bodybuilding and acting careers, while "The Marvelous World of Stan Lee" is 16 minutes with the always-animated Hulk creator on his life and philosophy. A still gallery and detailed talent bios on Bixby and Ferrigno round out the disc. Trial offers the gallery and bios as well as "Stand Tall," a solid 84-minute documentary from 1994 that profiles Ferrigno's quest for the Mr. Olympia Masters competition that should prove fascinating for bodybuilding and athletic enthusiasts. Viewers can also access Trial's original script via DVD-ROM. A breezy and informative eight-page booklet on both features rounds out the set. --Paul Gaita

Although this item is described as having special features, none are listed on the product package as with all other DVD's. Returned. I've seen the movie and ordered it especially for the special features, however, they seem to have omitted them in this double feature edition.

This is lot better watching since there are only two movies to watch BUT it's still the same receipe.Fun to watch though.

One Great TV Film and One Alright Film,

Personally, I like "Return" better than "Trial" but both films are great. I think "Return" does a better job of keeping with the continum of the old TV series than "Trial" does however.In "Return", we discover that David Banner hasn't become the Hulk in two years. In those two years, he has been working on the cure to his ailment and living with a fellow scientist named Maggie Shaw. All hell breaks loose however when a colleague from the past named Donald Blake shows up with his own problem named Thor! That, along with terriorists that want to steal the very device that may free Banner from his Hulk curse, makes it a good thrill ride! In "Trial", we see that David has moved northwest to a city that's never identified. Once there, he tries to help a woman who is sexual assaulted by two thugs that work for the crime boss The Kingpin! During the melee, he turns into the Hulk and is later arrested for the attack! Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer, comes to David's aid both as a lawyer and as his vigilante alter ego DareDevil. This is more of a DareDevil film than a Hulk film but it does contain one of the best "Hulk Out" scenes ever in a dream sequence in the courtroom! Overall, this is worth the money!
