Book Description

Drawing heavily on infancy research conducted over the past 25 years, Fogel provides a scientifically based account of infant development. Chronologically organized, the text covers similar topics in each chapter, including motor and physical development, perceptual and cognitive development, and social and language development. Fogel also stresses the practical applications of the theories and research presented through in-text features including Family and Society, Co-regulating with Baby, and Awareness Through Movement(tm). A new Web icon identifies topics that can be augmented by searching the World Wide Web. --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Text, Feb 26 2008

I used this for one of my classes and liked it so much that I kept it. I even gave a copy to a friend of mine. I really liked the approach. It is easy to read but interesting. The author gets a little preachy in some areas, and I didn't really like some of his exercises. Overall, it's a great reference text.

This book is so informational, it's really great. It's a really large book, and filled with so much! Don't be intimidated by it's size!

3.0 out of 5 stars Book in great shape, fast shipping, but dry content, July 30 2011

This is a book required for a course I'm taking. I have nothing but good things to say about the seller. The condition of the book was as described and the shipping was prompt at a reasonable cost. it's just that this book renders a very spiritual and emotional experience into dry scientific terms. But then, it IS a textbook!
