Product Description

From Amazon.ca

Monopoly Party offers new rules and 3-D graphics to make the classic Monopoly game faster, livelier, and more entertaining. The key innovation is same-time play, which allows every player to move at once, so there's never a dull moment. Colorful 3-D environments fill the center of the Monopoly board, and the game includes all-new tokens and properties.

Amazon.ca Product Description

The Monopoly Party game is the fastest way to discover what your friends are really like. It's an intense buying, trading, building and deal-making frenzy because every player moves at the same time. Here's how it works: Everyone rolls a set of dice at the same time. As soon as everyone rolls, everyone moves. Just roll and go. Then do all of the things you love, such as buy property, pass"Go," draw cards from "Community Chest," etc. Play Monopoly Party and find out who will cut you a deal when the chips are down and who will bankrupt you faster than you can say "Marvin Gardens!"

5.0 out of 5 stars Monopoly May 17 2004
By A Customer
"Monopoly Party" is a fun game. Some might think since it's a classic old-fashioned board game that it probably wouldn't be good as a video game, but it actually is. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys the original Monopoly. It's easy to grasp how everything works and how to play. It's also a lot more convenient.

4.0 out of 5 stars Old Fashion Fun at a Fast Pace Jan 20 2004
Monopoly on PS2 is very enjoyable. It's fun to play alone with three other computer players or with your buddies. Playing with the computer is a CRACK UP! as it attempts to swindle you into agreeing to the most absurd trade proposals. Its quite easy to use because it mostly consists of only pressing X. Although its not exactly like the board game, its tons of fun without having to choose which one of your trustworthy friends should be the "banker". Oh, and there's no clean up afterwards. I highly recommend this game just remember to keep an open mind.

4.0 out of 5 stars They almost got it right. Nov 28 2003
What's with the interface? I've been playing Monopoly on consoles since the 8-bit Sega Master System, and this is by far the worst UI I've seen yet in a Monopoly game.

It's nigh impossible to peruse the game board in a normal way, the interface for displaying who owns what properties is absolutely ludicrous, and it seems like this game was put together by people who don't play Monopoly, but who viewed building the system as a series of problems that they developed disparate modules to overcome.

Once you get used to it, which takes an un-necessarily long time, it's Monopoly, a game you know and love, and it's playable. But come on, put some thought and effort into it and make it usable.

We've been trapped in a proposed trade screen with a computer AI opponent for over 15 minutes at times, trying to figure out how to back out of it, since there isn't a simple "cancel trade" button that you can hit without modifying the trade properly, and it just gets needlessly confusing.

Good try, but not quite there, which is sad since this has been done correctly SO many times in the past.

Another reviewer had trouble with this game as well. This disc didn't work in my PS2. The back of the disc was a blue color and I had to return it, only to get another bad disc. Read more

This is a fun game if you like to sit back and just push a button instead of having to actually roll the dice and move your token like on the real board game. Read more
