Blazing Fast Quad Core CPU March 14 2013

Excellent Cpu for the money, eats every program and game i throw at it , also its very energy efficient, the cons are that it doesn't have a integratedGpu (Doesn't matter to gamers like me) and it can't be overclocked too much, only a little bit over the reference clock.

Love it! Feb. 6 2013

It is a very fast and responsive processor. I would compare it to the 2nd gen i7 in terms of speed. It plows through games and adobe apps with ease!

Perfect for gamers who don't expect to overclock Feb. 2 2014
By Dan - Published on Amazon.com
Upgrading from an old phenom x4 945, the performance gain i got was huge. I've always known my cpu was bottle necking my whole system, but i hadn't expected it was by this much. LOL used to cap at 50 fps with every setting on high. Now, it's around 130 fps average. Bioshock infinite ran at 30 fps with all maxed except post processing. Now, it reaches 60 fps, even during the most extensive scenes. The list goes on and on (keep in mind that I only changed my cpu and mobo). My biggest con is that you can't really overclock it. There might be a 3rd party app that lets you, but its not supported. Yet, its not a con really since the P implies that you can't overclock. What i really like is that this processor doesn't come with (to me) useless integrated graphics. This saves costs and power. since I have a dedicated gpu. All in all, even with the introduction of the haswell processors, I still recommend this card to anybody willing to upgrade. For it's performance and costs.

On a side note, get a 3rd party cooler if you play games. Intel coolers are rubbish at best. Even a 30$ cooler cools 10 centigrade cooler than that one.

Long Time AMD Convert Jan. 13 2014
By Juan Sebastian Figueroa - Published on Amazon.com

I've been using AMD products for the better part of a decade and a half. After having a CPU and motherboard failure, long story, I decided to try Intel this time around because I have a Windows 8 tablet with a core i5-2467m and was impressed with its performance so I wanted to see how a newer and more powerful chip would perform on a desktop. I've had previous experience with Intel chips before and have never been quite impressed enough to justify the extra expense, granted this was also ten years ago so you could say I've been a little ignorant in the progress Intel has made in the last decade.

I've been converted with this processor though. The timing of my circumstances restricted me on my purchasing a Haswell processor but I am more than satisfied with my Ivy Bridge set up. I'm not what you would call a "power user." I use my PC mostly for gaming and word processing, excel etc when work requires it. I have reasonable expectations as to what my set up should be able to handle as far as game settings and what not so I don't try to overclock my components, run benchmarks, or partake in the usual pissing contest that has been going on with PCs since the dawn of time. I do however monitor my temps and have a pretty good "butt dyno" for my PC performance. I will say this processor runs cooler and the stock fan is quieter than my old FX-6300 series processor and unexpectedly I also noticed my games are running at a better framerate than they used to even though this has 2 fewer cores and is clocked slower than my old AMD processor. All in all I am very pleased with this purchase and can say that I will probably be buying an Intel processor for my next set up whenever that may be.
