This pulse-pounding series explores espionage in the international drug trade and beyond. The story centers around Jimmy Reardon (Ian Tracey), a Vancouver drug lord trying to go legit, and Mary Spalding (Klea Scott), the head of the Canadian intelligence service for the Pacific region. Although they work on opposite sides of the law, Reardon and Spalding form an uneasy undercover alliance to protect their turf from rivals inside and outside their organizations. All loyalties are negotiable in this high-stakes game, and the players use money, sex, drugs, and murder to secure the most powerful commodity of all information.

"Intelligence" the series cbc goofed on,

Found this series a few years ago by accident.Great variety of heros and villans well cast and portrayed in a realistic believable web of stories. The seedy side of the drug trade and police undercover activities in the Vancouver area that weave characters in and out in a way that keeps you hooked. From the Reardon brothers, their ragtag associates, the rival Disciples and Orientals to the crime force headed up by a tough lady who struggles keeping her crew and informants one step ahead of the bad (or good) guys. The series recieved good reviews but the knomes at CBC did not promote it and ran it at disjointed times so it was hard to stay connected. Some speculation that pressure from the tourist industry helped to disuade continuance. So, grab the first year's DVD, sit back and enjoy. The second season will be an easy decision. Who knows, maybe CBC will make a movie to wind up a great series that was too realistic for some. Ron

This is one of the most well written, gritty, story lines that you will catch on tv (and now on DVD). It's a sad and great shame that the series isn't continuing.

Best Canadian TV show ever,

This was the greatest Canadian TV show ever and all fans cannot beleive that it was cancelled.I live in Metro Vancouer and every episode was like watching real life events. It's very real and entertaining. Also it is great to see the city of Vancouver on the screen.
