This exciting book shows you how to make 25 cards with a fun interactive twist. Each project is clearly explained and illustrated with large colour photos, so it's easy to understand how the cards work. There are designs to suit lots of different tastes and age groups, with some good ideas for speedy makes too. As it's an American title, many of the stockists listed are based in the USA, but most of the designs can easily be adapted to use whatever stash you have to hand.-Papercraft Inspirations Create interactive cards with moving elements thanks to the tried and tested papercraft construction methods in this book. This creative collection of projects is guaranteed to be fun to make and send, and features close-up photos of step-by-step stages for easy card creations. Choose from a variety of kinetic card techniques including spinner cards, slider cards, waterfall designs, cylinder pop-up cards, peek-a-boo sentiment window cards, shaker cards and more.-Simply Cards & Papercraft If you think that cards have to consist of a piece of card folded in half with a picture on the front then think again; cards can actually do things! This slim volume shows you how to make cards with tabs to pull, sections to slide apart, with hinges, pop up centers and more. If you make your own cards then it is a god idea to make them as special and unique as possible, and there are some fun ideas in here. This is a book aimed at the more experienced card maker, who knows how to use their equipment and is ready to acquire some new ways of using it. Each chapter contains projects for different ways to make cards that can be grouped under headings such as hinge, swing, sliders, waterfall etc and the projects are by various different artists which makes for a nice mix in styles. The all contain some staged diagrams as well as written instructions and a large picture of the finished item. Materials are listed and are specific in many cases, so crafters outside the US might not be able to obtain all of them but any crafter worth their salt will be able to find substitutes; no equipment is used that is only available inside the States. There are cards for Christmas, Halloween, birthdays for all ages, get well soon, party invitations and many very general cards that can have a variety of different messages inside. The instructions are not too hard to follow for anybody used to cardmaking and the results are a lot of fun.-Myshelf.com Creative interactive cards with moving elements thanks to the tried and tested papercraft construction methods in Interactive Cards. 3.0 out of 5 stars A mixed collection, Nov 15 2010

This review is from: Interactive Cards (Paperback)
This book covers 9 techniques: spinners, sliders, wipers, peekaboo, pop-ups, hinge, swing , neverending, waterfall. Some of the themes for the cards include birthdays, hello, christmas, thank-you, halloween, etc. In terms of style, I think the Neverending and Waterfall are the better designed cards.

This book is not for beginning users and geared more towards intermediate/advanced users. I found that it did not fully show the techniques, so It was not obvious how the mechanism of the card would work. It also does not provide fully illustrated step-by-step guide, which makes it difficult to follow at times. The instruction are written as un-numbered paragraphs(decreases readability), which make reference to the few photos accompanying the instructions.
