Simply awesome!, April 1 2005
This review is from: Intermission Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
I actually turned out to like this album a lot more than I thought I would. It's very fun. It has a perfect song selection. They made a great remix of Say The Words. It is far better than the original; the sounds fit the song so much better. Kevin Max's vocals REALLY shine on it. Their remake of Jesus Is Just Alright actually wasn't bad. It turned out to be very popular. I actually liked it better than the original. I still love the guitar in it! My Will is an awesome song. It has great lyrics and great sound. Again, it's awesome. Between You And Me is also an awesome song. The overall sound has really stood out to me. I love it. Very great sound. Consume Me is another stand-out track. It is very beautiful. Again, great for Kevin Max's vocals. In The Light is not to be forgotten! It is easily one of the best songs they've ever done. It is just simply amazing. It has awesome lyrics, awesome vocals, awesome sound, and awesome tune. Overall, it is AWESOME. Supernatural is super incredible! I absolutely LOVED it from the first time I heard it. If you think it's incredible in the studio, there's nothing like the live version. Yet, another great Kevin Max song. I love the guitar. Anyway, this is the first DC Talk CD that I've had (and the only). I would recommend that it would be your first DC Talk CD to purchase, if you don't have any of their CDs already. Enjoy!

WOW!! WOW!! WOW!! All I can say is WOW. This album is amazing, and so is DC Talk. DC Talk is my favorite "singing and dancing" group. This album has a perfect collection of songs. I like the version of Say The Words on this album better than the original. I REALLY LOVE the programming. Not only is it my favorite DC Talk song, it's also one of my favorite songs of all time. By the way, I also thought I might add that DC Talk made rap music WAY better. I think they do great rapping. Anyway this is an AWESOME album and if you like DC Talk at all you MUST buy this album. Enjoy it! Let me say real quick to Toby Mac, Michael Tait and Kevin Max that they did an AWESOME job on this!

Terrific overview of one of the most important (if not the most important) contemporary Christian group in history. Few trios, even in the secular world, are as diverse and daring as dc Talk has been to date. The gritty pieces like "Jesus Freak" from their "Jesus Freak" disc nearly 10 years ago sound as fresh today as when they were first committed to studio tape.dc's take on songwriter/artist/columnist Charlie Peacock's "In The Light" is the greatest version of that song ever, and it's one of dc Talk's top five tracks, easily. Unfortunately, only "Consume Me" and "Supernatural" are extracted from 1998's wonderful "Supernatural" LP. Still, it's hard to beat the songs that are here, even though the trio's first two discs (dc Talk, Nu Thang) aren't represented here. (Toby said in a recent CCM magazine article he wished they had waited and had "Free At Last," their third LP, be their first.) Shame on the reviewer below who is using explicit words to describe a Christian band he supposedly liked at one time. Talk about tacky, with a capital "T." Wash your mouth, "my friend."
