2008 album from the Canada Rock sextet. Recorded in the dead of winter in two East Coast harbor towns with producer and acclaimed singer-songwriter Hawksley Workman, Into Your Lungs began with a beautiful naivety and confidence. An "off the stage" feel and vigor that is reminiscent of the band's powerful live performances rooted the recording sessions and everything was bred from and expanded from there. Conceptually, the new record is a shift from earlier compositions often written in isolation within a bedroom, to a new depth and space that comes from experiencing life on the road as a touring band. The new record packs more grit while allowing the bands infectious energy and vulnerability to flow freely. Includes 24 page booklet with illustrations by artist Sydney Smith. 12 tracks. Sonic.

tim baker's amazing voice,

I saw Hey Rosetta in concert, opening for another band, and was immediately hooked by their intensity. Lead vocalist Tim Baker has an amazing voice that carries a hushed, beautiful melody one moment, and builds to a roar the next moment. The recorded album doesn't quite showcase his voice to its fullest extent, but the simple and beautiful lyrics are definitely worth hearing. I have listened to this album over and over.

Music that takes you places,

It's cliché to say it, but sometimes there are songs that accompany you while you go places, and sometimes that are songs that take you places. Everytime I play Into Your Lungs I'm plucked from the grocery store, or the bike ride home from work, and I'm transported somewhere peaceful high above the streets.. kind of hovering over life with the help of beautiful ballads and inspiring songs.
Songs like Black Heart, New Goodbye, A Thousand Suns, and I've Been Asleep for a Long Long Time, make me pedal faster and feel as light as a feather whizzing past everyone and everything. While the light piano of Open Arms, the emotional chords of Psalm, and the duet in We Made a Pact...all make me stop and take stock of who I am, what is going on in this life and this world of ours. I never knew HEy Rosetta before Into Your Lungs, but with an album like this, they have a new fan who appreciates how their music can influence a life.

This is one of those albums that make you wonder why we are fed the same old music, recycled by product after product. why do they, (the music industry), hide music this good. betcha can't play it once without a complete replay.
Seeing them live was a real treat, energy, atmosphere and talent, a nite I will not soon forget.

Huge Fan of Hey Rosetta after watching TV Series Flashpoint,

I was hooked on the Canadian Police Drama, Flashpoint, which has since re-aired in the States on CBS. They prominently featured music from Hey Rosetta, including "Psalm" and "We Made a Pact" (the soaring duet is great); episodes 4 and 7 respectively. Those songs worked to great effect in the episodes, and curious, I checked out the rest of their album. Great stuff, simple melodies, but powerful and emotional. It's compelling wonderful music.
