A Practical guide designed to get you working fast Aug. 25 2010
By Eric S Keller - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This is a great book designed to get you working in Mudbox fast. Not only does it teach you the most important aspects of the program but also has extensive information on working with scan data and integration into 3D pipelines using maya and other software. Ara is a great teacher and gets the concepts across clearly. The projects are engaging and fun. Ara has examples of both organic sculpting (female figure) and hard surface modeling (robot character). If you need to get up and running fast this is the place to start!

Great Book, Great Author Aug. 21 2011
By J - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This book is a great book for beginners / intermediate / advanced users of
Mudbox.

Clearly the author is passionate about his work, and not just out to produce
any old crap to make a buck.

I've contacted the author regarding minor questions (I'm a complete beginner)
several times, and he's responded quickly and answered all my questions.

He will be available to teach Mudbox online as well, his contact info is in the
book (I think it's against Amazon.com's rules to post his info here).

If you want to learn / need a refresher / want to sharpen your knowledge of Mudbox,
buy the damn book, and ask about the author's online classes!

Great Workflow Guide Nov. 3 2010
By 3dProducer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I've had this book for a while now and have found this book very complete in its overview of Mudbox for sure. What I found most useful is it's inclusion of the entire digital sculpting workflow from creating the base mesh, surface UVs, Sculpting, Painting the character and then rendering. Its a full A-Z approach. The book even covers multiple approaches to solving character creation and sculpting and also transition of your model into other apps including working with Mudbox and Photoshop. If you looking into Mudbox for creation of characters or environment CG models this is a great book to pick up.

Very good for its purpose! Feb. 3 2011
By Leonardo A. Maltez - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
I bought this book exactly for its title: Introducing Mudbox. The author did a great job teaching about the software itself. It speaks how to use it with tips and tricks to make your understanding as clearly as possible. I recommend it if you wanna take your first steps into digital sculpting. It's not my intention to say anything about Mudbox x Zbrush here, by that I mean the basics to intermediate sculpting process.

An absolutely wonderful book for the beginner! April 5 2011
By Lore - Published on Amazon.com

I have found this book to be fantastic for the beginner. It has taught me many lessons that I was unable to learn through some of the online tutorials that sometimes went way too fast for me. I'm very glad that I bought it and will have it for a valuable reference for in the future.
