1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money Jan 28 2010

All you get are 30-odd pages of acronyms and their definitions - nothing useful it the way of details concerning the initiation of calls or theory on trunked radios. It just says they "do this" or "do that". I wanted to know the logic that covers channel allocation and what goes on on the control channel.

1.0 out of 5 stars Overly simplified and quite misleading on many aspects July 13 2009
By JimTheScotRadioman - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This was a promising book however I found it to be overly simplified on its descriptions and quite misleading on not only the types of radio systems but also their manufacturer's and development history and applications. I grade this book an F for failure on a scholastic scale and on a proper guidance and basics building.

These books provide a quick explanation and tutorial for the subjects, but they are over priced for the content they provide. A textbook would be a better choice for in depth understanding of the topic. The are great for learning the basics of the topic and as an introduction.
