I've used TT for about 10 years with no problem, but maybe that's because I always bought it in Quebec. This year to save a few shekels I ordered Turbo Tax Standard 2012 from Amazon.ca. However, I suspect the Amazon version is a generic attempt to cover all of Canada because it kept asking questions about CPP as well as QPP. The bottom line was that Quebec owed me about $850 and I owed Ottawa around $550. Neither jurisdiction agreed: Ottawa said I owed about $1300 and Quebec said the same thing. TT was out by about $3,400!! I contacted TT customer service -- a South Asian joke, I am sorry to say. They wanted to see my Quebec notice of assessment as if I couldn't read it myself, and they wanted me to forward my entire file, including all the confidential information. Email and phone all have the same result - outsourced. I hand-wrote a letter to TT's office in Edmonton but have had no reply.
