Product Description

Tony Stark/Iron Man
Eccentric genius, billionaire, philanthropist Tony Stark is the armored super-hero known as Iron Man. Decompressing from his heroic, near-self-sacrificial action as iron Man that saved New York City from annihilation, Tony finds himself unable to sleep and plagued by worry and trepidation. When his world is destroyed and those closest to him threatened, Tony must find a way to save them and in the process find him again.

Pepper Potts
Pepper has progressed from Tony Stark's assistant to the head of Stark Industries, pausing along the way to fall in love with Tony as well. Bright, loyal and honest, Pepper understands Tony Stark more than anyone and sometimes that can be both a worrisome and dangerous thing.

Colonel James "Rhodey" Rhodes / Iron Patriot
Rhodey is the Liaison between Stark Industries and the U.S. Air Force. He is one of Tony Stark's few trusted friend and most of the time has the patience to deal with the impulsive genius. Rhodey has a new suit of War Machine armor in a red, silver, and blue patriotic design. When suited up, Rhodey becomes Iron Patriot.

The Mandarin
Mandarin is the sinister head of the terrorist organization known as The Ten Rings, from which all the actors of extreme terrorism plaguing the world appear to emanate. Although he is reclusive, Mandarin wields great power and makes his presence known by striking fear in the government and the populace through his brazen plans of attack.

The first Iron Man movie was great. The second, at the very least, was good. This was the kind of film where the screenwriters (or someone in the development process) felt the need to give the hero a cute kid as a sidekick.

Are you beginning to get that sinking feeling?

I can summarize this film quite easily. And I think I can do so without giving away anything that could reasonably be considered a spoiler:

Hero starts off superficially on top of the world after previous triumphs. Yet not without inner demons gnawing upon his soul (c'mon people - this is Tony Stark). So he gets into some real trouble and has to go away and find himself. Then, in the end, we have a climactic final battle. Oh yeah, and there's an evil conspiracy that needs to be uncovered.

Speaking of which, this movie did have a political subtext relating to events in the real world. But not the kind of subtext you get to feel clever for having deciphered. More the kind that leaves you with an aching skull after having been hit over the head so hard.

Finally - and I realize not everyone will consider this a fair criticism of a movie based on a comic book - there was absolutely no sense at all in why the baddies' superpowers worked the way they did. None. There's a spare slot in the human brain/genetic code, so therefore... well, you'll get to see. I can't help but wonder if this was all conceived as nothing more than a series of cool special effects.

Robert Downey Jr.'s rendering of Tony Stark is as good as it ever was. But the point is, for it to be worth making that third movie, there needs to be _more_. And in this case, there just wasn't.

I watched this movie at home. About 15 minutes before the end, just as the climactic final battle was getting underway, I was feeling pretty sleepy. So I went to sleep. I finished off the film the next day, but only because I'd already decided I wanted to review it on Amazon.

Theo.

"Iron Man 3 is what you should expect from it, "and nothing more or nothing less"
third time around we see the more human side, and A more vulnerable Iron Man,
of which by-the-way could've been killed at any given moment, but what I love about
this one is, he's more grown up to realize you can't kill all the bad guys all at once you
need help somewhere, so that was nice to see, Guy Pearce took part of this movie away from
Robert Downey Jr. the guy is so dam good at everything he does, too bad no American Director
hasn't given him any Starring role in a long time, I think his last one was Memento" he did some
in Australia that I know of but not in America lately, I could be wrong but who's counting,
and yet another favorite of mine is Rebecca Hall, it was very weird seeing her as a bad girl.
1080p High Definition Widescreen 2.40:1
7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio.
Runtime 130 Minutes.
Great Movie. Waiting For The Fought One..

I like all the Iron Man movies each has a twist to it , and his mellow laid back acting is so refreshing even though he had panic attacks in the movie

This is probably the best of the Iron Man set. Special effects are very good. It's a good one to have in the library.

2 of 3 people found the following review helpful By Dr. Joseph Lee #1 HALL OF FAMETOP 10 REVIEWER on Oct. 2 2013
Format: Blu-ray
VIDEO (3D):

Iron Man 3 3D (IM3) flies onto blu ray with MVC 1080p 2.40:1 encode. It should be noted that IM3 was not shot in native 3D with 3D camera, nor was its post-conversion in the cards from the beginning. The images looked flat and dim in 3D. Depth was somewhat unimpressive, while dimensionality was fairly unremarkable. 3D "pop" is generally non-existent (or perhaps an afterthought), and the already subdued brightness of the picture is that much more unforgiving, with detail sometimes falling victim to the shadows. Cranking up the brightness by about 10 units will help with the shadow details. But, the 2D version is definitely preferred. (3.5/5)

VIDEO (2D):

Iron Man 3 (IM3) flies onto blu ray with MPEG-4 AVC 1080p 2.40:1 encode. The transfer is pristine and simply flawless. For all its fiery reds, armour-plated golds and war-ravaged metal hues, John Toll's dark, dusty palette favours real-world colours and dirty, dingy ironworks, foregoing the shine and sheen of other superhero outings for a leaner, meaner but no less striking hero's quest. Skin tones are life-like, while blacks are deep and inky. Detail, meanwhile, is a sight to behold. Rather than a garishly crisp, digital sharpness, IM3 flaunts a more absorbing, filmic clarity, free of significant grain but altogether convincing and cinematic. Edges are clean and refined. Textures are wonderfully resolved. This is simply a perfect transfer. (5/5)

AUDIO (3D & 2D):

Disney's DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 surround track is the lossless equivalent of a fleet of flying, weaponized armours. Explosions, repulsor blasts, thrusters, tearing metal, crumpling steel, clanking suits of destruction, extremis-powered punches are all backed by incredible power and tremendous presence.

The DVD is in poor shape. Scratches caused a bit of skipping.
