Ironside Season 3,
By
This review is from: Ironside - Season 3 (Amazon Exclusive) (DVD)
An extremely well done series. I preferred Raymond Burr as a cop over a lawyer.Video quality is done well and I am glad to have it on hand. CSI everywhere nowadays drives me bats. Entertainment over being educated anytime.

Season three is worth it weight in Golden age TV,

I got my copy from the shout website...It is well worth it!I been a fan of Raymond Burr in both Perry Mason Perry Mason: Seasons 1-4 and Ironside. Burr mades both Mason and Ironside work. The audience knew he was the lead character, but he also shared the spotlight. It does matter when he played lawyer Mason or Police Detective Robert T Ironside, it is an amazing feat to watch him act without acting. He is totally real. The closest thing on TV like this today is Mark Harmon as Gibbs on NCIS Naval Criminal Investigative Service - The Complete First Season One would hope Shout Entertainment would have gotten Don Mitchell or Barbara Anderson (the last remaining cast members) to do audio commentary on an episode. However that never happened. What you do get is 26 episodes on seven disks. Pure mystery entertainment with quality scripts and acting is what you get here. I wish they would put this classic show back on TVLAND, rather than that reality stuff the network is running. Burr and company is worth the $55 price tag for Ironside season three. Good television always is worth the money. I dont see many bothered or upset by a $45 price tag for Fringe or NCIS. So do not allow yourself to have sticker shock for quality work on DVD like this. So fans of good classic TV , get this one! Bennet Pomerantz AUDIOWORLD 4 of 5 people found the following review helpful

My grandma & I watched both Perry Mason and Ironside, when they came out, it's nice to know, that both are on disc. I had trouble saying good bye, to the old paddy wagon, it was classy, indeed. But, enjoyed seeing the new van, & Ironside, himself, all decked out, hooked up. I say this with particular appreciation, given, to the way, that it's decked out with radio equipment. As a ham operator, I paricularly liked the episode:The Eye of the Hurricane. It's a great buy, and somne of, Burr's best work, I can't wait for season 4, to come out!!!!!! I hope that the new packaging is used, too, as it makes it, that much neater,Ironside: Season Three 4 of 5 people found the following review helpful

Shout Factory released the first two seasons of Ironside on DVD box sets a few years ago, I'm delighted to see them continuing with the series! Season three contains several excellent episodes, my favorites are:An Hour to Kill--Ironside has to save himself when he is cut off alone in his apartment by a hidden mystery man who can see his every move and threatens to kill him in one hour. Tom Dayton is Loose Among Us--Ed resents the release of a psychopath who hates women. Will he take the law into his own hands? and Poole's Paradise--Ironside is blocked from helping when Ed is kidnapped by a prison escapee. But is the escapee the real bad guy? This is the episode where the super-cool paddy wagon from the original episode meets its demise! Definitely worth it if you love this series! Buy it! |
