The cheese slicer I received was different than the one shown on the internet pic. The wooden cutting board was similar, but the slicer was a thick blade, instead of a string slicer as shown on the picture.For soft cheese the blade did not cut through smoothly, it was messey.
And for hard cheese it was not sharp enough to cut through.
I would not buy this product, since the one I received was not the same as the picture on the internet.

This is an excellent piece of equipment, though far more useful with harder rather than softer cheeses. The sturdy construction is perfect for whatever type of slicing you need to get done. I highly recommend it.

I wasn't aware that this used a blade vs a wire for slicing. The blade tears the cheese instead of slicing it smoothly. I threw it away and consider it a lesson in checking before buying.
