"One of life's great pleasures is sitting in an Italian coffee shop, surrounded by extraordinary ancient architecture, sipping a steaming cappuccino an watching the world stroll by" (taken from booklet in CD). There is no better way to introduce this CD! Just add "listening to Italian music" to the introductory sentence, and this is what this CD does for you! It transports you to Italy....

I love the Putumayo CDs for giving me an introduction to music from different countries and this one is no different. There are some awesome singers in this CD. Lots of great music with a range of styles from slow romantic, jazz, quirky & fun, and just great Italian music overall! Of particular note are Fred Buscaglione and Gianmaria Testa. Gianmaria Testa is the Italian Leonard Cohen and I have ordered his CDs through Amazon. How have I survived this long without knowing about this artist!?

I highly recommend this CD if you're starting to explore world music, particularly Italian!
