I purchased this as a download. Although the "learn/speak to music" approach is compelling (who didn't learn the alphabet by singing the "ABC Song"?), there is no way to navigate through each lesson by increments, so that if you wish to skip the early part of a lesson, you can't advance to a later portion. There are only two (fairly long) tracks, and using a fast-forward button to advance takes a very long time. On my Shuffle, which I like to use at the gym, I don't even have that option. I find this VERY frustrating.

Earworms, which refers to those tunes that you just can't get out of your head, are actually used in a positive way in the "earworms" volume 1 and volume 2 rapid language learning cds. The music is compelling enough to make me want to listen - and yes, I do find the tunes stuck in my head a bit at times, but so are the words and phrases.
It's a great way to get introduced to a language. If you are totally unfamiliar with the language you will want to follow the booklet at first just to make sure you are hearing it correctly. Once you've done that, you just keep listening and repeating along with it. And it works...I hope they come out with a volume 3.

I can't believe it but the words and phrases are stuck in my mind and I automatically used some of them in an Italian class. It's a great little companion. I walk a lot and the music makes it fun to listen and keeps my spirits up. I will upload Italian 2 and will be waiting for more advanced version. What an interesting way to learn a language.
