What's different for men? Men don't discuss diet plans. Men don't think we need help. We think we can exercise our excess weight off anytime. Yet we put on a little more weight every year, and keep thinking someday we will do something about it... Once things quiet down at work, or after I finish that project, or complete that course, or stop travelling so much for work, or after the baby grows up, or ... Meanwhile, as we put our health aside for other priorities, we have less and less energy, and then the weight starts to pile on exponentially.
That was me, and Harvey Brooker's book spoke diectly to me. If you are an overweight man, it will speak directly to you too. Harvey does not pull his punches as he tells us about the health and psychological effects of being a fat man. Then he gives us the tools to deal with it.
The eating plan is sensible and easy to follow - it even has a section called Sanity Savers with items like beer, nachos, and barbeque sauce. This program is not about starving yourself until you run out of will power. The key to the eating program is never being hungry. This program teaches you how to control your hunger and eat healthy. How to gauge your hunger and stop it in its tracks with healthy low-calorie choices instead of grabbing something from the vending machine at the office because you just cannot control yourself anymore. I have lost 60 pounds over 34 weeks on this program,and I plan to lose 30 more pounds. I feel like a new man. I started to have more energy alost immediately when I started eating according to the ONE80 plan, and lost 8 pounds the first week without starving myself. So, if you are a man and have read this far, buy this book. If you are a woman who loves an overweight man, buy him this book, but read it before you give it to him.

At long last there is a life style book that focuses on men and their issues with weight. Harvey Brooker has produced a book that men can truly relate to and understand. The book is both motivational and inspirational. The diet is very healthy and easy to follow. No weird foods that are almost impossible to find. Virtually all of the foods can be found at your local supermarket. And there is no calorie or carbohydrate counting. The best thing about Harvey's plan is that it works and you will never be hungry. Brooker has been helping men lose weight for more than 30 years. His enthusiasm and keen sense of humor comes through in this book. If you are an overweight man you owe itself to get this book. You will be glad that you did as the pounds fall off.

I followed the advise in this book and lost 45 lbs. in 3 months. This is a very good book for any man attempting to loss weight and have a more healthy life. Harvey Brooker really knows what it takes for men to lose weight. I recommend this book to anyone who is serious about losing weight and getting in shape.
