DOIN WHAT HE DOES BEST, Jan 5 2012

This review is from: It's What I Do (Audio CD)
There are many artists who achieve success by adopting a formulaic style that compliments the artist and pleases their fans. Billy Dean is one such artist. With a clear, melodic voice, he generally balances his albums with an equal amount of "rowdy" upbeat numbers and expressive heartfelt ballads which have become his strongest offerings.
IT'S WHAT I DO, his sixth album, is an enjoyable collection that takes no risks or breaks any new ground. Nevertheless, there are some good tunes included: the title track with its strong melody and Dean's emotional vocal; the playful homage to 60s spy movies in THAT GIRL's BEEN SPYING ON ME; the heartbreak of giving up a child in IN THE NAME OF LOVE; the romantic bittersweet PLAY SOMETHING WE CAN DANCE TO and the powerful building of LEAVIN LINE.
Dean is a good stylist and knows what he does best---it;s what he does.

Billy Dean is one of best country singers around. "It's What I do" is an all around feel good album/CD. One of Billy's best! This is an album/CD that you can dance to from begining to end and do it again. Even if you have had a trying day this album can be a comfort to listen to.
"It's what I do", covers a wide veriety of situations or topics, in an upbeat dancable tempo. I can't believe this is a country album. Love It!
I was never a big contry music fan until the mid '90's. Billy Dean's music is part of the reason for that. I can not recommend this music enough.
