James Ehnes is one of my favorite contemporary violinists, and Bach, my favorite composer. So, I might be a little biased, but if you're like me, you won't be disappointed. For new-comers to this music, consider getting Volume 1: some of the better-known movements are there.

Bach Sonatas for Violin and Harpsichord, vol.2 May 12 2007
By Vaclav Musil - Published on
Format: Audio CD
James Ehnes in a perfect partnership with Luc Beausejour play this work extremely well, in a real Bach idiom. I especially liked the wonderful Sonata no.6 in G which sounds to me like inner joy incarnate.

Great work played by great interpreters.

James Ehnes, a truly wonderful violinist. May 12 2008
By Charles W. Kessler - Published on
Format: Audio CD Verified Purchase
James Ehnes' playing of both volumes of the Bach Violin and Keyboard sonatas is outstanding. He is lyrical. He is respectful of the music. His playing is simply glorious. All people who love the violin should know James Ehnes' playing.
