Having been a big fan of Tosca Reno for many years, I was quite excited to see that she was publishing yet another book. I have found her books to be based on common sense principles with some research mixed in. This book was a scaled down synopsis of all her other books and there wasn't anything new to elaborate on.
That being said, I think that was Tosca's intent. This book came across as more of a quick reference guide for clean eating - something you could take with you on the go without it being too awkward to carry with you.
As with her other books, I sometimes find her wording and phrasing to be a bit basic and at times almost unpolished, but the end result is the same: she's sharing what has worked for her, what her personal research has uncovered and other common sense items that have been muddled with misinformation (i.e. fat free, low fat, no carbs, etc.). And the proof is there! Just look at how she has transformed herself.
One negative I would state about this book is the text size - tiny! They have tried to keep the book small and easy to read, but the teeny tiny font makes it hard to focus and the reader can easily get lost because there is so much jammed onto the page.
I recommend this book to keep in your purse or to take as a quick reference guide on healthy eating options and clean eating tops. If you want to learn more about Eating Clean and Tosca's story, I recommend picking up "Eat Clean Recharged" as it has all this book does, but with additional information and details that would be benecifical to a first time reader of her books.
