This is my dog loves this toy, shes a german shep/black lab mix.. about 65lbs. It stands the test of time as well, she is an aggressive chewer and she's had it since Oct 2013. This squeaker isn't excessively loud either, it did end up falling out in March. She played with it everyday though, and even without the squeaker she still loves to play with it. I would recommend being around when your dog is playing with this one, just in case the squeaker falls out. Hope this helps anyone out there trying to decide if they will buy it.

My dog's favorite June 12 2012

My 7 year old Boston Terrier loves this ball and this ball alone. We've gone through 6 in 7 years. So they last long enough for the price. I'm giving it 5 stars for lasting about a year, and it being the only ball my dog will play with.

Good Squeak, quickly destroyed Nov. 5 2011

I got the for my dog's 5th birthday. He loves squeaky balls. He's a rough chewer, so it's difficult to find toys for him. Thought I'd give this one a chance. He had fun with it for 5-10 minutes before it was destroyed

What a difference Feb. 10 2014
By Melissa Pommer - Published on Amazon.com
I purchased these balls about a year ago. My two dogs love them. They are the types of dogs that ruin toys in minutes and these have lasted. So I figured it was time to order a few more before I can never find them again....well I get them in the mail. I'm beyond disappointed. The "new" balls barely squeak. They sound horrible. The rubber is not even half the thickness that it was before. I can even see the disappointment in my little dog who always loves squeaking the ball. I do not recommend this product as I would have before. They have seriously gone down hill.

Great at first, but it didn't hold up as well as expected. Feb. 14 2014

I waited to write the review on this because I wanted to see how long it lasted. JW toys have typically been very sturdy and withstood significant chewing by my super chewer pit bull. The best toy he's had was the Bad Cuz devil ball by JW...once he chewed the feet off of it the rest remained intact for months and months. I was hoping for the same effect with this ball (sans feet), but no such luck. The squeaker broke within the first hour of play, which I expected and don't really care about (why even put squeakers in toys? they NEVER last more than a day with just about any dog).

My boy absolutely LOVED this ball. For about 3 weeks it was his favorite toy. He plays fetch a little bit, but mostly just wants you to chase him around with the ball in his mouth while he squishes it around in there, then he'll lay down and chew away for a long time. So the ball withstood several long chew sessions, but after about a week it had a crack in it, and a couple weeks later he managed to break a chunk out of it. I'd say about 3/4 of the ball is still intact and floating around the house. It's no longer his favorite (I think once he cracks a toy open the fun is gone), but he'll still grab it and run around the house with it for a while and occasionally do a bit of tug-o-war with it.

I think it would be a great ball for a dog that isn't such a powerful chewer. I might buy one again someday, but I'll try other things first in an attempt to get something more durable that will last longer.

Very durable ball--not so much March 18 2011
By amynicole902 - Published on Amazon.com
This is by far my pitbull mutty mix puppy's favorite toy. She'll chew on this until she falls asleep, ball half in her mouth. She seems to love plastic toys that give a little like this ball does, vs the very tough plastics like toys for "extreme chewers" or the "nearly indestructible" kind. There are pock marks all over the ball from her sharp baby teeth, but after three weeks of constant chewing, there are no signs of the ball being ready for the trash. BTW, since she chews on it constantly, I purposefully broke the squeaker by jabbing a sharp object into the middle of it. Otherwise the toy would drive us all bonkers!

I also have a JW Pet bone that is really durable. JW Pet products seem to be the way to go for my Super-Extreme-Chewing-Machine puppy...

UPDATE: I've downgraded this ball to a 3, because my chewer figured out how to destroy the ball, and it's replacement was destroyed even faster (I've learned that once she's figured out how to get the squeakers out of one type of ball, she goes straight for it on the replacement, and the toy doesn't last nearly as long--smart girl...).
