4.0 out of 5 stars Yet Another Rankin and Bass Classis May 9 2014
There have been several attempts to make Jack Frost a beloved Winter-time character like Santa and Rudolph. Most recently, it was DreamWorks production of "Rise of the Guardians." But let us remember that in was Rankin and Bass to tried it first in this production of Jack Frost, as told by the groundhog, voiced by none other than Buddy Hackett. See also "Frosty's Winter Wonderland," another production by Rankin and Bass.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun and nostalgic Jan. 19 2012

This is just a really fun trip down memory lane if you watched this as a kid and still have an affinity for Rankin Bass. I love it, and, I only paid like $10 for it through amazon.ca, got it 2 days after ordering. I played it through my blu-ray on a high-def T.V. and the detail is startling. It's a great movie to watch every Christmas.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Christmas Classic! Nov. 12 2009
By Jackson Spines TOP 500 REVIEWER
When I was a kid, this was one of my most favourite specials to watch right around Christmas time. It has everything, a great story line, great characters, great narration and catchy songs. In the words of the most memorable song in the movie, "It's just what I always wanted, it's perfectly right, it's just what I always wanted, a Christmas delight!"

4.0 out of 5 stars Jack Frost was very likable. Dec 6 2003
Format:VHS Tape
This was the first of many Rankin/Bass holiday specials I saw on TV (the only ones I owned on video being the popular "Rudolph" and "Peter Cottontail.") I was pleased by this one too. In fact, I recall seeing part of it once last year on TV too--it also seems to be one of the more popular ones. Anyway, the idea that a girl is in love with "Jack Frost" and then Jack Frost, who's lonely, becomes human because he thinks she really loves him, was, I thought, quite adorable. So "Jack Snip" the tailor moves in with the girl's family. I liked the song they sang while unwrapping an empty box and pretending it was "just what they'd always wanted." It was sad, yet cute. Snip, the snowflake-maker, followed Jack to Earth to help him reach his human-like goals by spring and remain a human, and also to keep out of trouble. The story only began to drag a little when the "k-nights" came into it, and the snowed-in castle. In the end, the girl marries the man she truly loves, her "knight in golden armor." And of course, Jack Frost is present at her wedding. It's really a very nice tale.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Cool Christmas from Rankin Bass Dec 19 2001
Format:VHS Tape
It just isn't Christmas without the classic Rankin Bass holiday specials, and Jack Frost (not to be confused with the Michael Keaton or horror films of the same name) is the perfect film to welcome winter. Filled with the usual musical numbers, a celebrity narrator (Buddy Hackett as the ground hog) and two evil villans. Jack falls in love and wants to become human but it doesn't quite work out as planned. In fact, its almost a Shakespeare tragedy (without the death of the hero of course) by the time it ends. Nite quite a happy ending, but a wonderful adventure all the same. A note to fans of The Saint: Jack Frost has his own little whistled theme throughout the film.
