a very nice read, Feb 10 2002
This review is from: Jackie And The Giant (Mass Market Paperback)
This is the story of Jackie,a thief who steals into the home of the "giant" Rory to steal his Faberge egg. She is caught however and ends up being chased down by Rory. Rory is a wealthy widower who has a wild six year old to raise. He decides that instead of calling the sheriff on Jackie he will make her his son's new governess. She at first balks at the idea but then agrees to it. She soon finds herself falling in love with Kevin, Rory's son, and also finds herself attracted to Rory. After a compromising meeting they get married and Jackie soon finds herself in love with her "giant". He too has fallen in love with her and evn though they are in love they must still conquer both of thier pasts to live happily ever after. I really enjoyed this story and will read more of Linda Jones's books in the future.

Move Over J. Lindsey, July 11 2000
This review is from: Jackie And The Giant (Mass Market Paperback)
After being trapped in a never-ending Johanna Lindsey cycle for weeks, Linda Jones' 'Giant' was phenomenal. I loved the relationship that the two main characters were involved in and how the plot DID thicken and get resolved. Set in the 1800's, the main character is a thief looking for her ticket out. Unfortunately her victim's insomnia ruins her plans. She finds herself employed by him as governess to his rambunctious child! This man (forgive me for forgetting his name), has a lot on his mind and luckily Jackie is just the thief to steal his heart and remind him that one never forgets how to love. The story never gets too complicated and is a breath of fresh air after so many redundant books with weak female characters. There is a slight fairy tale twist (Jack and the Beanstalk) but is only inbetween the lines and never overwhelms.
