This is a fantastic Blu Ray - it was great to watch this movie with no surprises... other than seeing a transfer whose colour and contrast was better than I've seen before. There are no digital "enhancements" or additional scenes, or anything else that would detract from such a perfect film.

I generally feel like older movies don't transfer well to Blu-ray. But with Jaws, I was pleasantly surprised at how clear the picture was. While the scenery and fashions do date the film, the picture quality is quite good.
Also, the bonus features, including a 2 hour making-of documentary are very well done. Even if you are someone who doesn't generally watch bonus features, you will find this documentary very interesting and well-paced.

It's a great movie, a well known classic that you can enjoy many times. The film is worth owning and I won't waste any more time on the film itself. I've owned the DVD and can say the Blu-Ray simply looks fantastic by comparison. Clearer, cleaner, crisper, better colours, etc. The film received a proper remastering. Bu-Ray is the one to buy. Enjoy!

I'm not going to bother reviewing the movie Jaws itself, but rather just comment on how absolutely astounding that the remastering of this classic movie truly is. While i was expecting it to be a good, i'm actually blown away by the quality of both the picture and sound!! The movie itself was shot in 1975, but with the meticulous care that went into this restoration one would never know (other than the 70's styles of course) as even when comparing it to the recent remastering of other major movies filmed just in the 90's such as Jurassic Park and The Lost World (filmed 18 and 22 years after Jaws) which indeed have quite a bit of grain to their picture to which there unbelievably isn't any here.
Universal is doing some wonderful remastering this year on account of their 100'th anniversary, but here they've really outdone themselves with this true classic for every frame has been lovingly restored to practical perfection in a process which had taken over 5000 hours to do. Jaws is one of my all time faves and i've seen it at least 20 times in 30 years, but i've already seen this edition on bluray 4 times in less than a month. If you're already a fan of this incredible movie than this edition is truly a must to add to your collection as you have never experienced Jaws like this and if you haven't seen it yet then now is the time and this is indeed the way. This new 4K digital restoration of Jaws — the original summer blockbuster movie — is STUNNING. Great care has clearly been taken to both respect and preserve the original visuals, whilst the audio track has been sweetened and has considerably more dynamism. You never saw the movie like this before and it comes with a bunch fascinating special features. Great value and a well-deserved five stars!

An excellent character driven suspense tale that holds up perfectly with age. First time this author has seen it in its entirety. Strange however that Spielberg let so much of the shark show, when at those particular times the special effects are a weak point. Weak, but not ruinous.

Robert Shaw deserved an Academy Award for his portrayal here.

I am not going to discuss the film, as many other have covered it. The Blu transfer looks and sounds great, but if you are buying the film with the intention of getting benefit of the digital copy, be aware of the following when using the code through iTunes Canada :

HD - 4.51GB, iTunes Extra 1.76GB
Code until - 30 April 2015

I love this movie and its a must have for my collection. The music still gets me nervous and the scene where the fisherman's head pops out of the boat still makes me scream lol . I get a kick out of the people and the clothes from this time period. Did anyone else notice how old the parents of young children looked? It makes me laugh.
